2020年が始まりました。

2020年の全日本ロードレース選手権では、これまでのJ-GP2(Moto2を意識したクラス)クラスが廃止され、新たにST1000（ストック1000）クラスが始まります。拡大していくアジア市場では、最高峰のクラスです。
日本にメーカーの本社や工場、そしてファクトリーチームが無い海外メーカーにとっては上位を狙えるクラスとも言えます。

昨2019年に筑波サーキットの選手権のST600クラスにて全4戦で2勝を上げ（最終戦が悪天候でキャンセルとなり実質全3戦））年間チャンピオンとなった　ゼカライヤ・ジェゲデ（名・姓）選手。筑波選手権初の外国人チャンピオンです。
ガーナ人とアメリカ人の両親を持ち、アメリカ生まれで流暢な日本語を話すスマートフォンのアプリケーションエンジニアでもあります。

そのジェゲデ選手が公式に aprilia Japan (Piaggio Group Japan)と2020年のレースサポート契約を結びました。RSV4 1000 RFで全日本のST1000クラスに挑戦します。

ST1000の開幕戦は4月26日ツインリンクもてぎで開催されます。
とはいえもう2020シーズンは始まっています。3戦2勝で600㏄の筑波チャンピオンとなったゼカライヤ選手でも、100馬力近く出力が高い1000㏄では準備が必要です。
RSV4 Factoryで今シーズンに向けてのトレーニングはもう始まっています。

The 2020 season has started.

For the All-Japan Road Race Championship the J-GP2 (similar to Moto2) class has  been discontinued and replaced with the ST1000 (Stock 1000) class.   It is considered the highest class in the emerging Asia market.

It can be said that this class allows overseas manufacturers, without a Japanese HQ and factory race team, to aim for the top and be competitive.

Zechariah Dzegede won the first two races out of four in the ST600 class at Tsukuba Circuit Road Race Championship last year (the last race was cancelled due to bad weather so a total of three races). He is the first foreign champion in the Tsukuba Championship.

He has Ghanaian and American parents and is American-born.  Fluent in Japanese, he works as a smartphone application engineer in Tokyo.

Zech has officially signed a 2020 race support contract with Aprilia Japan (Piaggio Group Japan). He will challenge the All-Japan Road Race Championship ST1000 class with the RSV4 1000 RF.

The opening round of ST1000 will be held on April 26 at Twin Ring Motegi.

The 2020 season has already begun for Zech as he prepares for the challenge of riding 1000cc, which has 100 horsepower over the 600cc the Tsukuba Champion used to win 2 out of 3 races.
