プロジェクト立ち上げの背景 Background of Launch

オルタナティブスクール日本サマーヒル・アカデミー（運営主体：ARS株式会社）共同代表の大浦絢子です。

日本サマーヒル・アカデミーは、座間市を第1拠点として2024年春に設立した小・中学生を対象としたオルタナティブスクールです。

現在生徒数は、オルタナティブスクール在籍者は7名、カルチャー教室は10名弱です。

本校には、「言語能力がとても高い子」「物知りな子」、「目標に対して人一倍の集中力を発揮する子」、「突き抜けた負けず嫌いな子」、「バランス調整能力が非常に高い子」など、強い個性や得意を持つ小中学生が在籍しています。

ただこの個性は、日本ではまだまだ日の光を浴びにくいのが現状です。

そこで本校では、彼らが自分の個性や得意を社会の中でしっかり形にして仕事にもできるよう、自立した「生きる力」を養成するために「起業家教育」の活動を始めました。

これは、子どもが主役となり、イベントの企画をしたり小売りを行ったりする体験型のビジネスワークです。

基本的に子どもたち自身の発案をイベントとして企画から開催まで行ったり、お祭りに出店するブースを考えて当日の運営までを小中学生が行います。

指導者は、実現までの過程で、考えることや決めることを助言、チラシデザイン作成のためのソフトの操作方法を教えるなどのサポートを行います。

彼らは、本活動で、教科書に書かれた成果物の作成を、子ども向けに開発された教材で、きまった手順で行うのはなく、ゴールとなる成果目標を自分で考えるところからスタートし、大人がリアルに仕事で使うツールを用いて、本当に実現できる企画を検討します。

「職場見学」「職業体験」のその先にある、リアルな事業へのチャレンジができます。

イベント開催の実績等は、彼らの輝かしい1つの業績になりますし、大きな自信にもつながります。

I am Ayako Oura, co-chairperson of the alternative school Japan Summerhill Academy (Operated by ARS Corporation).

Japan Summerhill Academy is an alternative school for elementary and junior high school students established in the spring of 2024 with its first base in Zama City.

Currently, we have 7 students enrolled in the alternative school and less than 10 in the culture class.

Our school has elementary and middle school students with strong personalities and strengths, such as “children with very high language ability,” “children who know things,” “children who show more concentration than others on their goals,” “children who hate to lose through and through,” “children with very high balancing ability,” and so on.

However, in Japan, this individuality has yet to see the light of day.

Therefore, our school has started “Entrepreneurship Education” to nurture independent “zest for life” so that they can give shape to their individuality and strengths in the society and work.

This is a hands-on business work in which children take the leading roles in planning events and retailing.

Basically, elementary and junior high school students plan and hold events based on the children's own ideas, or think of booths to open at festivals and manage them on the day of the event.

Instructors provide support in the process of realization by advising them on what to think and decide, teaching them how to operate software for creating flyer designs, and so on.

They will not use the textbooks written in this activity to create deliverables in a set procedure with teaching materials developed for children, but will start from the point where they think about the goal outcome objectives on their own, and examine a project that can truly be realized using tools that adults use in real work situations.

This allows them to take on the challenge of realistic projects that go beyond “workplace tours” and “work experience.

The results of holding the event, etc. will be one of their brightest achievements and will give them a great deal of confidence.

これまで、生徒たちが主役となり企画から開催まで実現した、あるいは現在進めているプロジェクトを紹介します。

小学6年生が企画し開催したゲーム対戦交流会

eスポーツが得意な小学6年生、スマブラの対戦会をやりたいと申し出がありました。

どういうイベントにしたいか、どういうルールにするか、対象者は？人数は？日時は？場所は？。イベント開催にあたって考えることを教え、順番に検討を進めました。

チラシもパソコンで自分でデザインし、完成したチラシは自分でポスティングまで行いました。

この取り組みは、在籍校の先生も高く評価してくださり、学校の授業で、作ったチラシが見本として紹介されました。

Here are some of the projects that have been realized or are currently underway, with students playing a leading role from the planning to the event.

A game battle exchange planned and held by 6th grade elementary school students

A 6th grader who is good at e-sports asked us to organize a Smash Bros.

What kind of event do you want, what are the rules, who is the target audience? How many people? What is the date and time? What is the location? I told them what to think about when organizing the event, and we proceeded to consider each of these issues in turn.

The students also designed their own flyers on their own computers, and even posted the completed flyers themselves.

The teachers at the school highly appreciated this initiative, and the flyers they made were introduced as a sample in a class at the school.

夏まつりでのブース出店

夏祭りのイベント企画にあたり、体験コーナーやブース出店を企画・経費計算・当日の店番まで行いました。具体的には以下のブースを企画しました。

・eスポーツ体験コーナー（ゲームの種類を考え、料金を考え、当日の店番をしました）

・スライムづくりコーダー（体験しやすいよう作り方の手順や容器を工夫、材料の配分は練習を重ねて調整しました。当日の店番もがんばりました。）

・レジン工作によるアクセサリーの小売り（手作りアクセサリーを持ち込み店頭販売。場所代も計算して店番もがんばりました。）

Opening a booth at a summer festival

In planning events for the summer festival, we planned, calculated expenses, and even manned the booths on the day of the festival. Specifically, we planned the following booths

e-sports experience corner (we thought about the types of games and prices, and took care of the booth on the day of the festival)

Slime making coder (We devised the making procedure and container to make it easy to experience, and adjusted the distribution of materials after much practice. They also did their best in manning the store on the day of the event.)

(We brought in handmade accessories and sold them in the store. The storekeepers also did their best, calculating the cost of the space).

小学３年生・４年生が企画したドッチボール大会＆ゲーム対戦会

過去に開催したイベントを参考に、小3・小4も取り組みをはじめました。ルールを考え、イベント名を考え、募集人数を考え、ターゲットを考え…ただいま少しずつチラシデザインを進めております。

来年1月開催予定（開場はたぶん町田）です！まずは公開をお待ちいただき、どうぞ実現までの奮闘ぶりを見守ってください。

Dodgeball Tournament & Game Competition organized by 3rd and 4th graders

Referring to the events we have held in the past, the 3rd and 4th graders have also started working on this project. We have been thinking about the rules, the event name, the number of people to be recruited, the target audience, etc... We are now gradually designing the flyer.

We are planning to hold the event in January next year (probably in Machida)! Please wait for the release of the flyer and follow our efforts to make it a reality.

小学５年生・６年生が協力して企画を進めたオンラインゲーム大会

これまでのイベントはすべて現地でオンサイトでの開催でしたが、より多くの方が参加できるようにと、初のオンライン大会開催に向けて準備中です。

オンライン大会の運営にあたっては、プロチームComfort Zone Gamingより助言をいただき、オンライン会議にて、開催に先立って検討することを教えてもらいました。

開催は2024年12月を予定しており、ただいま当日の運営の流れを確認しております。

Fifth- and sixth-graders collaborated in planning an online gaming tournament.

All previous events have been held on-site at the site, but we are now preparing to hold our first online tournament in order to allow more people to participate.

We have received advice from the professional team Comfort Zone Gaming on how to run the online tournament and have been informed at an online meeting that we will consider prior to holding the event.

The event is scheduled to be held in December 2024, and we are currently confirming the operational flow for the day of the event.

当校は、不登校の一時的な休息の居場所ではなく、選択できる学校外の教育機関と位置づけ、基礎学習に加え、探究的な学びを伸ばす教育体制も整えているオルタナティブスクールです。

おださが校は座間市相模が丘に位置し、神奈川県県央地域中心に（座間市・相模原市・海老名市・大和市・厚木市）通学されている生徒や問い合わせをいただいております。

For basic learning, we collaborate with Benesse Corporation and communicate closely with the Board of Education and schools to support attendance recognition and grading evaluation for students attending our school.

Odasa School is located in Sagamigaoka, Zama City, and receives students and inquiries from students attending the school mainly in the central Kanagawa Prefecture area (Zama City, Sagamihara City, Ebina City, Yamato City, and Atsugi City).

博士(人間科学)＠疫学・予防医学・社会福祉学・老年学・教育学／(一社)学術・教育総合支援機構・副代表／文部科学省国立教育政策研究所フェロー／ARS(株)・代表取締役／(元)笹川スポーツ財団特別研究員／保育士。

学術支援事業を基軸に事業を展開してきましたが、高IQ・8歳の息子の不登校をきっかけに、“サマーヒル・スクール”の教育法を取り入れたオルタナティブスクール日本サマーヒル・アカデミーを設立しました。

不登校者数は全国で約35万人。特に最近の不登校のきっかけは「学校の勉強はわかるけれども授業がつまらない」、いわゆる平均よりもIQの高い子どものうきこぼれが多いことが、民間NPO法人の大規模調査で明らかになっています。

これまでのフリースクールの多くが、発達に悩みのあるお子さんを対象としていますが、本校では不得意がある子だけではなく“得意もとりこぼさない”教育、それに加え、不登校の子も学校に通っている子も利用ができるフリースクールを実現し、インクルーシブな教育、多様な学びの場の重要性を発信するとともに、本校の子ども達の才能を世界で活躍できるよう育てたいと考えております。

I have been developing my business based on academic support services, but when my 8-year-old son with a high IQ stopped going to school, I established Summerhill Academy Japan, an alternative school that adopts the “Summerhill School” educational method.

There are about 350,000 truants in Japan. A large-scale survey conducted by a private non-profit organization has revealed that many of the recent truants are children with higher than average IQs who “understand schoolwork but find the classes boring”.

While most free schools to date have targeted children with developmental problems, our school will provide education not only for children with disadvantages, but also for those with strengths, and will be open to both children who have not been attending school and those who are still in school. In addition, we would like to realize a free school that can be used by both children who have never attended school and those who are currently in school, and to communicate the importance of inclusive education and diverse learning opportunities, as well as to nurture the talents of our children so that they can be active in the world.

新井　庸太：共同代表／運動・スポーツ教育事業統括責任者

Yota Arai: Co-Chairman / General Manager of Exercise and Sports Education Business

NHKテレビ体操指導者／高等学校教員／(元)日本体育大学体操部コーチ／一般体操指導員。

自らの経験から習得した体操の新常識を全国に普及させる夢の第1歩として体操教室（ACE Gymnastics Studio）を開校しました。

日本サマーヒル・アカデミーでは、運動・スポーツ教育事業統括責任者として、本体操教室を常設の教室を位置づけ、私が運動指導を担当する形で、日常の生徒たちの体づくりのサポートをしております。具体的には、室内に自由に使用できる体操用具を設置したり室内外で取り組める運動遊びなどを、専門的な知識・技術を用いて提供しています。

日々の体づくりだけではなく、不登校のお子さんの中には、運動・スポーツの才能がある子もいます。学習面の「得意」だけでなく、運動・スポーツの「得意」も取りこぼさず見つけて伸ばし、自立的なスポーツ活動もサポートできればと思っております。

また、地域全体の運動・スポーツ事業の発展と健康づくりのための取り組みとして、キッズ・パパママ・シニアの方向けの体操イベントを定期的に開催し、各回100名以上のご参加をいただいております。

NHK TV gymnastics instructor / high school teacher / (former) gymnastics coach at Japan University of Physical Education / general gymnastics instructor.

He opened a gymnastics school (ACE Gymnastics Studio) as the first step in his dream of spreading the new knowledge of gymnastics that he learned from his own experience throughout Japan.

As the general manager of the exercise and sports education business at Summerhill Academy Japan, I positioned this gymnastics school as a permanent facility, and I am in charge of exercise instruction to support the daily physical development of the students. Specifically, I provide exercise equipment that can be used freely indoors and exercise games that can be played both indoors and outdoors, using my professional knowledge and skills.

In addition to daily physical development, some children who are not attending school have a talent for exercise and sports. We hope to find and develop not only academic “strengths” but also athletic and sports “strengths” and support independent sports activities.

In addition, as part of our efforts to develop exercise and sports programs for the entire community and to promote health, we regularly hold gymnastics events for kids, parents, and seniors, with more than 100 people participating each time.

カラバコスタジオ本校は、町田市にある造形教室です。「手で考える」をモットーに、つくる中で得られた閃き、問題解決を通して詰め込み教育では身につかない能力開発を目指しているSTEAM教育実践教室です。

日本サマーヒル・アカデミーは、生徒の得意や苦手を受け入れ、個々の生徒の発達に合わせた教育を自由に選択できる体制を構築しています。この教育方針に共感し、日本サマーヒル・アカデミーのオープン教室としてレゴ＋プログラミング教室を開講しました。

教室では、遊びながら鍛える創造的な思考力、空間認知能力、論理的思考力、集中力…これらを、個々の特性に合わせて適切に導きます。

マニュアルに基づいたレッスンが主流の他のレゴ教室とは異なり、個々の「つくりたい」に応じて、「手で考える」をモットーに、つくる中で得られた閃き、問題解決を通して詰め込み教育では身につかない能力開発を目指しています。

日本サマーヒル・アカデミーの生徒の中には、造形が得意な子やデザインが好きな子、4歳でモーターやギアパーツを駆使した制作を楽しむ子など、大人が驚く才能を見せてくれる子がいます。彼らがその得意を社会の中で発揮できる方法をたくさん教えてあげたいと思っております。

Head of LEGO + Programming School / Representative of Carabaco Studio

Carabaco Studio is a plastic arts school located in Machida City. With the motto of “Thinking with Hands,” we are a STEAM education practice class that aims to develop abilities that cannot be acquired through crammed education through the inspiration and problem-solving gained while creating.

Summerhill Academy Japan accepts the strengths and weaknesses of its students and has established a system that allows students to freely choose the education that best suits their individual developmental needs. We share this educational policy and have opened the LEGO + Programming Classroom as an open classroom at Summerhill Academy Japan.

In the classroom, creative thinking skills, spatial cognition, logical thinking, and concentration are developed through play...these are guided appropriately according to individual characteristics.

Unlike other LEGO schools where lessons are mainly based on manuals, our motto is “think with your hands” in response to each individual's “want to create,” and we aim to develop abilities that cannot be acquired through crammed education through the inspiration and problem solving gained while creating.

Among the students at Summerhill Academy Japan, there are children who show talents that surprise adults, such as those who are good at modeling, those who love design, and those who enjoy creating with motors and gear parts at the age of 4. We hope to teach them many ways they can use their strengths in society.

寄付をお願いしたい理由 Why we ask for donations

これまで、本教育活動の資金は、日本サマーヒル・アカデミーが保有する備品や用具を使って、本校のスペースを無償で貸し出す等にて、できる範囲の小規模で進めてきました。しかし最近、本活動を通して、子どもたちの企画～実現までのノウハウの蓄積が進み、彼らの成長とともに、活動そのものも活発になってきました。同時に、彼らが手掛ける企画規模が活動開始当初よりもひとまわり大きくなってきました。

今後この活動は、より多くの方が集まれる広い会場で開催できるように。また、小売りに使用する材料や用具の費用、eスポーツ大会運営に使用できる専門のツール、活動用のゲーム機、コントローラー、チラシデザインソフト費など、あてられる費用が増えることで、実現できる企画規模をより広範にできればと考えております。

まだまだこれらの費用を自活して補填できる力は彼らにはありません。

この活動は、彼らが自力で自立した事業を成立させる力を養うための教育の機会であり、将来の可能性をたくさん持っている早い時期に、リアルな事業や活動に存分に挑戦させてあげたいと思っております。そのため、本プロジェクトを立ち上げ、本校の教育活動にご賛同いただける方に広くご寄付をお願いする運びとなりました。

本プロジェクトにおけるご寄付は、2025年1月からの活動より使わせていただきたいと思っております。

Until now, this educational activity has been funded on a small scale to the extent possible, using equipment and tools owned by Summerhill Academy Japan, and by renting space at the school free of charge. Recently, however, through these activities, the children have been accumulating know-how from planning to realization, and as they have grown, the activities themselves have become more active. At the same time, the scale of the projects they are involved in has become much larger than at the beginning of the project.

In the future, this activity will be held in a larger venue where more people can gather. In addition, we hope to expand the scale of projects that can be realized by increasing the amount of money that can be allocated for materials and equipment used for retail, specialized tools that can be used for running e-sports tournaments, game consoles and controllers for activities, flyer design software, etc. We are still working to cover these costs on our own.

They do not yet have the ability to cover these costs on their own.

This activity is an educational opportunity for them to develop the ability to establish independent businesses on their own, and we would like to let them fully challenge real businesses and activities at an early stage when they have many possibilities for the future. For this reason, we have launched this project and are asking for donations from a wide range of people who support the educational activities of our school.

We would like to use the donations for this project from January 2025.

このプロジェクトで実現したいこと What we hope to achieve with this project

本校で今後も継続的に行う起業家教育プロジェクトにおいて、子どもたちが企画する事業の規模を拡大するために必要な資金を助けていただきたいです。

これまで、彼らが開催したイベントは、定員あるいは来場者10名～30名程度、無料で使用できるスペースで、既存の備品のみ使用、有志の協力を得る形で最小限の運営をしてきました。活動にあてられる費用もなかったため、子どもたちは自身での経費計算を必要としないため、リアルな事業教育にはなりきれず、”体験学習”にとどまっていました。

しかし現在、彼らの運営企画力の上達ぶりから、100名以上の参加者・来場者を見越した事業開催が検討できるまでになりました。それに伴い、企画設計および当日の運営にあたる費用と、あわせて専門的な指導ができる講師の招聘が必須となりました。

引き続き彼らには、本活動を続けていただけるようにと考えており、特に、次回からはリアルな経費計算のもとで企画を考えてもらい、より規模の大きい事業を実現させてあげたいと思っております。また、この活動をとおして、多くのプロフェッショナルと小中学生のうちから関わりを持ち、目標になる大人と出会うこと、そして将来の事業開発にあたる重要なネットワークも増やしていただきたいなと思っております。

具体的には、子どもたちの以下の活動に対してご寄付をお願いしたいです。

We would like to ask for help in funding to expand the scale of the projects that the children are planning for our school's ongoing entrepreneurship education project.

Up until now, the events they have organized have been minimally managed with a capacity or 10-30 visitors, free space, use of existing equipment only, and the cooperation of volunteers. However, now that their management and planning skills have improved, we are able to consider holding a project with more than 100 participants and visitors. We hope that they will continue with this activity, and in particular, we would like to ask them to come up with a realistic cost calculation for the next project, so that we can realize a larger-scale project. We also hope that through these activities, the children will be able to interact with many professionals in elementary and junior high school, meet adults who will become their goals, and increase their network, which is important for future business development.

現在の準備状況 Current Readiness

日本サマーヒル・アカデミーにおける起業家教育プロジェクトは、設立まもない時期にスタートしました。

過去の取り組みでは、一定程度の成果と大きな教育効果も感じております。

現在、12月の企画が1本、年明け1月の企画が2本、計3本が内部で進んでおります。1月以降の開催はまだ会場が決まっていないため、大きい会場を選択肢に置いてあげたいです。

毎月1本の頻度で、本校生徒やご希望いただいた外部のお子さんに、新しい企画に挑戦していただいています。

The Entrepreneurship Education Project at SummerHill Academy Japan started shortly after its establishment.

We have seen a certain degree of success and significant educational effects from past efforts.

この活動は、子どもたちの自主性を重んじ、決して大人が強制的に・あるいは誘導的に取り組みを促すことはしておりません。すべての企画が、子どもたちから自ら「やりたい！」と申し入れがありスタートしています。

1人目の企画から開催までを横で見ていた別の生徒は、「ぼくもやってみたい」と初めて挑戦をはじめ、チラシデザインを進めるためにパソコンを覚えたいと、タイピングを練習し始めた子がいて、ペアで話し合って進める企画は、お互いに相談しながら役割を決めて進める協調的な様子が見られ、過去開催の経験を積んだ生徒は自信を持ち、次の企画イメージが以前よりもスケールが大きいものになりました。

このように、本教育事業は、まだ開始からたった数か月しか経過しておりませんが、子どもたちの目を見張る教育効果を示しています。

全ては、子どもたちの「生きる力」を早期段階で身に着けていただき、それにより、「得意」「好き」を、社会の中で事業や活動として形にしていくスキルを身に着けていただけるよう。子どもたちが、自立した人生を自分自身で切り開いていただけるよう、挑戦できるリアルな学びの機会を作ってあげたいと思っております。

We value the children's independence and never force or induce them to take part in activities. All projects are initiated by the children themselves. and they are all initiated by the children themselves.

Another student, who was watching from the side of the first student, said, “I want to try it, too,” and began to try it for the first time. The students who had gained experience in the past gained confidence, and the image of the next project became larger in scale than before.

Thus, although only a few months have passed since the start of this educational project, it has shown remarkable educational effects on the children.

All in all, we hope that children will acquire the “zest for life” at an early stage and thereby acquire the skills to give shape to their “strengths” and “likes” as businesses and activities in society. We would like to create realistic learning opportunities for children to challenge themselves so that they can create their own independent lives.
