言葉が通じない人との間でも意志疎通できるマルチメディア・メッセンジャーの開発を行います。デモ用アプリ開発ハッカソンを開催して、最優秀者には賞金を出し、β版の開発を委託します。同時に、マルチメディア絵文字の制作をデザイナーに委託します。

▼はじめに

はじめまして！モヨ（株）の代表をしている唐澤です。私は外資系企業を中心に情報通信業界で45年間仕事をして来ましたが、そうした経験を基に、私の集大成として言語に依存しないマルチメディア・メッセンジャーを開発・提供したいと考えています。私たちが考えているマルチメディアとは、写真、画像、動画、擬音、テキストの組み合わせです。

▼これまでの活動のご紹介

会社設立当初は、米国TROPO社の代理店をやりながら、WebRTC技術を使った音声通信サービスを提供しようと考えておりましたが、市場には競合するサービスが既に多く存在するため、後発事業者として市場参入するには差別化が必要ですが、音声通話、テキストチャットなどでは利用者への訴求が難しいと判断して、まだ世界中で実現されていないサービスを開発しようということになりました。

▼プロジェクトをやろうと思った背景

世界中に約8千あるという言語を使い、お互いに意思疎通することは困難です。言語に依存しないマルチメディア通信手段を提供すれば、異言語（異民族）間の意思疎通が簡単になり、争いのない世界になると思います。そう考える根拠は、世界中の言語の語源を遡ると、多数の共通音素があることから、最初はひとつだったと考えられているからです。

▼プロジェクトで何を実現したいか？

1. マルチメディア・メッセンジャーの試作
通常のコミュニケーションで良く使われる名詞・動詞・形容詞を120個～130個用意し、それらから主語、述語、目的語等を選択して相手に送信すれば、大体の意味は伝わると考えられるので、そうした基本的機能をインタラクティブに使えるアプリを試作しようと考えています。

2．ハッカソンの開催

資金調達成立後，直ちにハッカソンを開催し、最優秀者にβ版の開発を委託し、2ヶ月以内に開発して貰います。同時に、マルチメディア絵文字の制作をデザイナーに委託して、開発の最終段階で組み込みます。順調に行けば、6月末迄に開発が終わり、7月から支援者の皆様と弊社のパートナーに機能評価をして頂きます。

ハッカソンとは、決められたテーマ、仕様、開発環境、素材などを基に、自由参加で、決められた時間内に開発を競い合うもので、優秀な技能を持った人材や、新規アプリケーションを発掘するイベントで、主にネットを活用して開催されます。このプロジェクトではモヨチャットの機能概要がわかるようなアプリケーションを、目標額達成1週間後くらいに、24時間以内で開発を競い合うハッカソンを開催しようと考えています。参加は、個人でも法人でも可能で、詳細内容は弊社ウェブサイトに発表します。開発に必要なアプリの仕様、指定開発環境、指定テンプレート、GUI素材を提供します。

▼おわりに

人間は表現する動物であると私たちは考えています。
しかし、現代人は孤独で、誰もがいくつものコミュニティーに属したいと欲し（所属意識）、それぞれの仲間と心を通わせること（コミュニケーション）で、人との繋がり（関係性構築）を維持したいと願っている（考える葦では孤独感は解決されない）と思います。しかし、同じ仲間のコミュニティー内でさえも、争いを恐れて、きちんと議論もせず、薄っぺらな理解で満足していて、本当に理解し合っている友だちと言える関係を構築している人は意外に少ないように思われます。



そこで、世界中の老若男女が、言語の壁を越えて楽しく、簡単に、意志疎通できるユニバーサルデザインのマルチメディア通信サービスを開発・提供すれば、争い、諍い、紛争、戦争などが無くなり、世界が平和になると考えています。
言葉の壁を感じている世界中の人々がお互いの想いを伝え合うことができて、理解し合える仲間が増えれば、大きな喜びを感じて貰えると私たちは信じています。

しかし、それだけでは、同一言語のコミュニティー（親しい人のグループ）の仲間と、いつでも、どこでも、誰とでも、快適で濃密な通信が容易にできるとは言えませんから、音声やビデオによる通信サービスも、更に深く心と心をつなぐためには必要と考えています。将来的にはそれらを加えることで、コミュニティー内の深い理解と繋がりが生まれ、現代人の孤独感を解消することができると考えています。

Overview

Develop a messenger application that could communicate in a way that does not rely on language between different language speakers. By holding a demo application development hackathon, we will outsource to the winner the development of a prototype. In parallel, we will outsource to a designer the creation of graphics.

Introduction

Hello! I am Karasawa, representative of moyo co. ltd. I have worked in foreign companies around information ＆ communication technologies for 45 years. Based on this experience, I would like to develop and offer a multimedia messenger that does not rely on language. Here, multimedia means some of combinations of photographs, still pictures, motion pictures, sounds and texts.

Introduction of our activities

Initially, we planned to provide voice communication service based on WebRTC technology while promoting TROPO platform as a distributor. But there are many competitors who provide the similar services thus we need to differentiate with them to penetrate into the same market with voice communication and text chat services and it might not be easy. So, we decided to develop an epoch making service that is not realized in the world yet.

The background of this project planned

It is difficult to mutually understand each other in a world where it is said that there are about 8000 languages. We believe that by providing a way to communicate in a multimedia way that does not rely on language, inter-language (inter-ethnic) understanding will become easier and will lead to a world without conflicts. The foundation of our thought is that, if you trace back the etymology of world languages, you find many common phonemes which leads to believe that initially there was a single language.

What we want to realize with this project?

1. Develop a prototype application of multimedia messenger

We will prepare 120 to 130 nouns, verbs and adjectives that used commonly in everyday communication. By selecting subjects, predicates and objects and sending them to the other party, most of the meaning should be conveyed. This would form the basis of the prototype application that will offer the core features in an interactive fashion.

2. Hold a hackathon

Once the fundraising is successfully completed, we will hold immediately a hackathon and commission the winner to developing the prototype application within two months. Simultaneously, we will commission a designer to create the multimedia contents that will be incorporated in the application in the final stages. If all goes according to plan, development should be finished by the end of June and we will be able to ask our supporters and partners to provide us their feedback from July.

A hackathon is an time-limited open development competition with defined theme, specifications, development environment, materials. It is an event held mainly over Internet in order to discover talents with exceptional abilities and new applications. In this project, about one week after attaining the funding goal, we plan to hold a 24-hour hackathon where contestants will compete to develop an application that presents moyochat's functional overview. Individuals as well as companies will be able to participate, and the details will be published on our web site. We will provide the specifications, the designated development environment, templates and GUI elements.

Last words

We believe that human beings are animals capable of self-expression. However, the modern man is isolated, and everyone wishes to belong to several communities (sense of belonging) and maintain ties with other people (relationship building) by establishing an emotional bond (communication) with fellow companions (a thinking reed won't solve the feeling of loneliness). However, even when among our peers, few people are able build relationships in which they can truly say that they understand each other, because we fear conflicts and as a result we don't debate properly and are content with flimsy understanding.

So, we think that by building and offering a multimedia communication service with a universal design that allows everyone - old, young, male and female - worldwide to express one's intention, disputes, quarrels, conflicts and wars will vanish and the world will attain peace.
We are sure that if the people all over the world that feel this language barrier are able to make new friends by conveying their thoughts to one another, they will feel great joy from this.

However, this does not mean that it will be enough to easily communicate in a comfortable and deep way with the members of the community of people with whom we share a common language (the group of people we are the closest) anytime, anywhere, with anyone. So we also need a communication service with voice and video to have even deeper heart to heart exchanges. By adding this in the future, deeper understanding and ties will emerge within the communities which will help solve the feeling of loneliness of the modern man.
