こんにちは。
ゆき&キューティーズの石渡悠起子です。
子どもの頃から本が好きで、高校の先生は皆国文科に行くと思っていたくらいでしたが、十代で歌を愛するようになり、2003年より2012年の9年間、アメリカで大学へ行ったのち現地で音楽活動をしていました。
震災をきっかけに2012年から東京へ住まいをうつし、
「ことばを愛し、ことばを遊ぶ」とうたい、
やはり言葉を自分のライフワークのテーマとしながら、
歌いながら翻訳もしています。
Hello. I am Yuki Ishiwata from Yuki and Cuties.
I have been a big-time bookworm since I was a kid, but I came to find my love for singing when I was a teenager. Still, all my highschool teacher didn't believe me that I wasn't gonna major in Japanese-literature in college, but insted went to NY to study music.
I ended up spending 9 years of my 20s in NY to pursue my music career in the city. After 3/11/2011, I decided to relocate to Japan and I have been based in Tokyo since 2012.
Being a bookworm entire my life, my motto is "play with words with love."
As a person with two different career as as a singer and a translator, I always keep that motto on my mind.

そんなわたしの日本語、英語ともに言葉への愛が詰まったＣＤが、
今春発売予定の3rd CD である
The book of Yuki and the Cuties です。

バンドの人件費などを抜いても、
本番の前のプリプロとよばれる録音の前の録音、
レコーディングスタジオでの録音、
ミキシング、マスタリング、とよばれる録音から音源完成までの費用、
そしてCDのディスク／ジャケット印刷費用までで、
だいたい５５万円ほどかかりました。
正直、もっと安く作れたと思います。
2016年の今は、誰もが家庭用パソコンに搭載された
楽譜を読めない人でも使えるソフトで自宅で録音を簡単にできちゃう時代です。
でも。
大手事務所やレコードレーベルの後ろ盾もない、自主制作の作品だけれど、
長く愛される品質の録音作品を残そう。
デジタルの時代に、長く手にとってもらえるパッケージを生み出そう。
そんな思いでこの作品をバンドメンバーと作ってきました。
ジョンが亡くなった後にビートルズを知る世代でも
未だにファンが生まれ続けるように、
本当に長く愛される作品を作ろう。
わたしたちは今は知名度もお金もないバンドかも知れません。
でも本気でやって見る前に、無理かなんて誰にもわかりませんから。
そんな風に思いながらこのCDを作りました。
そして、わたし自身がCDというものをデジタルでしか購入しなくなった今、
せっかく商品にするならば、長く手にとって愛でてもらえるにはどんなジャケットにすべきか、長い時間をかけて考えました。
そうした経緯から、ＣＤのケースも長く愛でてもらえるように、
一般的なプラスチックのケースではなくリトルプレス風の本タイプにしました。
こうすることで、デジタルで音源を購入してくださった皆さんには
本の部分のみをお渡しすることが可能になりました！一石二鳥！
そして、願わくば。
この作品が日本、海外問わずどうか少しでもたくさんの人に愛されるように、
行けるところならどこへでも行き、私たちの音楽を届けたいと思っています。
I have put all my energy and love for my words into this upcoming CD project, The book of Yuki and the Cuties.

It costed about 550,000 JPY for the entire recording process (pre-production, recording, mixing, mastering/ then Jacket/CD printing.)
I know I could have made this CD with much less cost. However, making a CD with long-lasting quality is still costly, even in this digital age, where everybody gets to use Grageband or any other DTM software and record at home.
Knowing that, however, this is what I have been believing.
I want to make this CD last for a long time.
Like you would still go back and listen to the Beatles even if you were born after John had been long gone.
Yes, they were world-famous stars and had all the money they needed.
We are nobody at this point. But who knows it is impossible for us to make it without even trying? That is why I decided to have invested for a wonderful mixing engieer to record at his studio.
Another thing was the jacket design.
I still buy music but only via digital distribution and I believe many others are like that, too. So, what would be a jacket that makes people still want to "get it"?
That question led me to created a zine-like jacket.
The good thing about this book-type jacket is that I can just give the book itslef to people who purchased the music online. Yay!
So, all I gotta do now is to bring this wonderful work of ours to wherever it will be accepted and loved.

自分たちの活動を助けてください、という素直な気持ちとは同時に、
この活動を通じて、もう1つの事を沢山の人に呼びかけられたらと思っています。
Yes, I am trying to raise a fund here, but there is another important reason.
インディペンデント（無所属／自費制作）でどこまでいけるのか。
How far can an indie musician get in music industry?
私たちより若い世代のミュージシャンに、
今後日本の音楽業界においてインディペンデント（無所属／自費制作）で
どこまで自分の音楽に責任を持って仕事をできるか提示し、
Basically, noone knows us yet.
And I believe that is why us doing this crowdfunding is so important.
I wanto change this game in our industry, especially in Japan.
I want to prove that an indie musician can be successful while taking full responsibility of their work and music to create a path for younger generation.

-30万 ツアー旅費
(中部、大阪、九州などの3都市ツアーに各地方２泊で4名で出る想定で
四人分のホテル代 1０万円 交通費 20万円）
-10万 宣伝／ミュージックビデオ作成／その他必要経費など
Breakdown for the fund (EN)
-300,000JPY tour expenses
(assuming that 4 band members will visit Nagoya-Osaka-Kyusyu region, each city for 2 nights- accomodation 100,000JPY transportation 200,000JPY )
-100,000JPY Promotion/Music Video Production/other necessary expenses.
