おかげさまで地域住民の方から、駒テラスNO.1芸人とお呼びいただいております鳥淵智絵と申します。

私たちの事務所「手芸種智院」は、駒テラス西参道からすぐ近くにあり、そこを拠点に渋谷区で文化活動をさせていただいております。

私は、2010年よりバリ島との国際交流に携わらせていただいてまいりました。現地の子どもたちと GART（ガート） を用いたアート制作にも取り組み、文化や創作活動を通じ、国境を越えた文化交流を育むことを大切にしてきました。

About the Project Organizer

My name is Chie Toribuchi, and thanks to the warm support of local residents, I am affectionately known as the “No.1 Comedian of Koma Terrace.”

Our studio, Shugei Shuin, is located just a short walk from Koma Terrace Nishisando, and from this base, we have been actively engaged in cultural activities within Shibuya, Tokyo.

Since 2010, I have been involved in international cultural exchange with Bali, Indonesia. Through art-making activities using GART, I have worked closely with local children, placing great importance on nurturing cross-border cultural exchange through creativity, art, and shared cultural experiences.

私は、日本の伝統文化である 「将棋」 の魅力を、味わいとともに世界の皆さまへお届けしたいと考えています。

「将棋くずし」など、将棋の駒を使った気軽に楽しめるゲームは、海外の方でもすぐさまご参加していただけます。

「あやとり」や「折り紙」といった日本の伝統文化にもふれていただけます。

また、このイベントは誰でも気軽に集まれるアットホームな雰囲気が特徴です。

さらに、地域の皆様にお見守りいただいているミントを使用した「渋谷区NO.1ミントミンティ」 をお召し上がり下さい。

日本の伝統文化とともに、爽やかな香りと味わいもお楽しみください。

What We Hope to  Achieve with This Project

Through this project, I hope to share the charm of shogi, a traditional Japanese culture, with people around the world, together with a sense of taste and experience.

Simple and enjoyable games using shogi pieces, such as Shogi Kuzushi, can be easily enjoyed by overseas visitors, even if it is their first time.

Participants will also have the opportunity to experience other traditional Japanese cultures, such as Ayatori (string figures) and Origami.

This event is designed to have a warm, home-like atmosphere where anyone can feel free to gather and take part.

In addition, we invite you to enjoy our “Shibuya No.1 Mint Mint Tea,” made with mint that has been kindly watched over and grown by members of the local community.

Along with traditional Japanese culture, we hope you will also enjoy the refreshing aroma and gentle flavor.

About the Event Location

The event will be held at Komaterasu Hall, located within Komaterasu Nishi-Sando, just a short, straight walk from Meiji Jingu (Meiji Shrine).

Although Komaterasu Nishi-Sando is situated beneath an elevated railway, it offers a calm and relaxed atmosphere where visitors can feel at ease.

Near Koma Terrace, you will find a wide variety of dining options, including:

We will also provide an easy-to-understand map so that international visitors can find these restaurants without getting lost.

After the event, we invite you to explore Japanese food culture at a restaurant of your choice in the neighborhood.

Meiji Shrine Guide

This is a small and modest offering, but we would be happy to walk together with you inside Meiji Shrine and provide a gentle, personal introduction as we go.

Tokyo Sightseeing by Rickshaw

We can also introduce a rickshaw service called Iwai Jinrikisha.

るWe have a friendly and trusted relationship with the rickshaw pullers of Iwai Jinrikisha, and it is a special experience that we can confidently recommend to our guests with peace of mind.

One particularly recommended route is from Meiji-jingumae to the Shibuya Scramble Crossing.

A rickshaw journey through Harajuku, Omotesando, and the Shibuya area is a very popular activity among international visitors, offering a wonderful way to experience the charm and atmosphere of traditional Japan.

プロジェクト立ち上げの背景

このプロジェクトは、明治神宮から駒テラス西参道までの道のりで、何度も観光客の方が立ち止まり、戸惑いながら行き先を探している姿を目にしたことから始まりました。

そして、ただ目的地へ案内するだけでなく、

将棋遊び、あやとり、折り紙といった日本の文化を、言葉が通じなくても一緒に楽しめる場をつくりたいと考えました。

文化は、説明するものではなく、共に体験することで自然に伝わるものだと信じています。

この場所で出会った人たちが、

「楽しかったね」

「また来たいね」

と笑顔で言葉を交わす——

そんな小さな記憶が、日本での大切な思い出の一部になってくれたら、これほど嬉しいことはありません。

このプロジェクトは、華やかな観光事業ではありません。

けれど、人と人とがゆるやかにつながり、心が少しあたたかくなる時間を大切にした、ささやかな挑戦です。

Background of the Project

This project began when we repeatedly witnessed visitors stopping along the route from Meiji Jingu to Komaterrace Nishisando, looking uncertain and searching for their way.

Rather than simply guiding people to a destination, we wanted to create a place where Japanese culture—such as playing shogi, ayatori (string games), and origami—can be enjoyed together, even without a shared language.

We believe that culture is not something to be explained, but something that is naturally conveyed through shared experiences.

If the people who meet here can smile and say,

“That was fun,”

“I’d love to come again,”

and if those moments become small but meaningful memories of their time in Japan, nothing would make us happier.

This project is not a glamorous tourism business.

It is a modest effort that values gentle connections between people and moments that leave the heart feeling just a little warmer.

これまでの活動と準備状況

おかさまで、渋谷区のさまざまなイベントに参加させていただき、多くの方々とのネットワークを築いてきました。

開催場所である 「駒テラス西参道」さんの使用許可もすでに得ています。

地域の皆様のご厚意により、複数のお店などにミントを置かせていただいています。駒テラス西参道さんにも鉢植えのミントを置かせていただいています。

Our Past Activities and Current Preparations

So far, we have participated in various events throughout Shibuya Ward, where we have built strong networks with many people in the local community.

We have already obtained official permission to use Koma Terrace Nishisando, which will serve as the event venue.

Thanks to the kindness and support of local residents and businesses, we have been able to place mint plants at several shops in the area.

Potted mint is also being cared for at Koma Terrace Nishisando, reflecting the warm cooperation of the community.
