熊本地震の被害を考え、このプロジェクトは一旦保留とします。
■はじめに
あの一打が、遠い海を越えて、ふるさとの空を明るく照らす——
そんな瞬間を、あなたと一緒に創りたいと思っています。
熊本市出身のメジャーリーグのスラッガー、村上宗隆選手。
今、彼は世界最高峰の舞台で、次なる伝説を刻もうとしています。
その背中を、ふるさと・熊本から、くまモン達磨によってもう一度押したい。
そして、村上選手の活躍が、ふるさとの人たちだけでなく日本中を勇気づけます。
■このプロジェクトで実現したいこと
私たちは、熊本の象徴であるくまモンと、縁起物の「達磨」を融合させた“くまモン達磨”を制作し、それを、Chicago White Sox / シカゴ・ホワイトソックスで戦う村上宗隆選手に贈呈したいと考えています。
・場所は、シカゴ・ホワイトソックスの本拠地Rete Field においてセレモニーを実施予定。
・日時は、現在、球団側と詳細を調整中ですが、シーズン中の9月下旬の予定。
今のところ、9月17日（木）、18：40開始の試合（対：タイガース）前にRate Field で実施の方向です。
・セレモニーは、試合前、球場において、このプロジェクト代表の森哲郎より、村上宗則選手に直接、くまモン達磨（58cm高）一体を手渡す予定です。現地メディアもその模様を報道する予定。
・同時に、球団側へ、くまモン達磨のミニチュア（10体）も手渡す予定。
実現すれば——ホームランを打つたびに、ベンチにちょこんと置かれたくまモン達磨が、ニコッと笑う。そんな光景を、世界中のファンと共有できるかもしれません。
この思いをホワイトソックスの広報に打診したところ、村上選手も球団も快く受け入れてくれることになりました。現在、球場でのセレモニーの詳細などについて調整を行っています。（イエ〜イ！）

■なぜ、くまモン達磨なのか
くまモンは、今や世界に知られる熊本の顔。そして達磨は、「願いを込める」日本の文化。
この2つが合わさったくまモン達磨は、
- 挑戦する人を応援する象徴
- 何度でも立ち上がる不屈の象徴
- そして「夢を叶える存在」
です。
まさに、今シーズン、ホームラン王を狙う村上選手にふさわしい存在だと考えました。
プレゼントするくまモン達磨には、「臥薪嘗胆」* の文字を入れる予定です。
（臥薪嘗胆/がしんしょうたん＝目的を達成するために努力を惜しまず精進すること）
村上選手は、高校時代、監督からこの言葉をもらい、以来、ずっと大切にしているとのことです。
■熊本から世界へ——もうひとつの意味
熊本は、熊本地震、そして令和2年7月豪雨という大きな災害を経験しました。
それでも人は立ち上がり、少しずつ、確かに前へ進んできました。
今回 2026/7/28にも再び大きな地震に見舞われました。

村上選手のホームランが、その復興の象徴のように、熊本に「もう一度立ち上がる力」を届けてくれる。
そんな願いも、このプロジェクトには込められています。
また熊本だけでなく、日本中、各地で様々な災害を受けている地域があり、そういう地域の人たちにも村上選手の活躍は元気と勇気と希望を与えてくれるはずです。
そして、願わくば世界中の苦しむ人たちにも元気と勇気と希望が届くなら、このプロジェクトの価値が大きく羽ばたくことになります。
■実施内容
- 1）オリジナルくまモン達磨の制作
- 2）シカゴ・ホワイトソックスへの正式打診 （現地での贈呈セレモニーも可能との返事をいただき、詳細を調整中）
- 3）応援メッセージの収集・書籍化（Kindle）（クラファン終了後、10月の予定）
- 4）応援動画制作（日本語／英語）（クラファン終了後、10月の予定）
5）報告会開催（村上選手に渡すセレモニーの様子の報告会を熊本市で実施。くまモンにも登場依頼予定。10月以後）
6）返礼品の発送（10月以後）
※今後、球団との調整により、贈呈方法や演出は変わる可能性があります。
現在、ホワイトソックスと調整中ですが、想定イメージは：
シーズン中（もしくはポストシーズン）に、ホワイトソックスの本拠地（アメリカ・イリノイ州シカゴにあるギャランティード・レート・フィールド（Guaranteed Rate Field ）において、寄贈イベントを開催。
9/17にレート・フィールドのグランドで実施予定。
夜（18：40〜）の試合の1時間ほどまでに実施予定。

■ Introduction
That single hit—traveling across distant seas to brightly illuminate the skies of his hometown...We want to create that moment together with you.Munetaka Murakami, the slugger from Kumamoto City, is poised to carve out a new legend on the world's greatest stage. We want to give him one more push of support from his hometown of Kumamoto—this time, with the help of a "Kumamon Daruma."And in turn, his success will inspire the people back home.
■ What we aim to achieve with this project
We plan to create a "Kumamon Daruma"—a fusion of Kumamon (the iconic mascot of Kumamoto) and the traditional Japanese "Daruma" good-luck doll—and present it to Munetaka Murakami, who plays for the Chicago White Sox.If this happens—Every time he hits a home run, the Kumamon Daruma sitting quietly in the dugout might just seem to smile back.We might be able to share that very scene with fans all over the world.When we reached out to the White Sox public relations team with this idea, both Murakami and the organization were happy to accept the proposal. We are currently coordinating the details, such as the date for a ceremony at the ballpark. (Yeah!)It looks likely that we will be able to hold the ceremony at the stadium sometime in the second half of September during the season.
■ Why a Kumamon Daruma?
Kumamon is the face of Kumamoto, now known across the globe. The Daruma, meanwhile, represents a Japanese cultural tradition of making a wish.Combining these two elements creates a Kumamon Daruma that serves as:A symbol of support for those taking on challenges;A symbol of indomitable spirit—rising up again and again;And a figure that helps make dreams come true.We felt this was the perfect gift for Murakami-senshu as he aims for the home run title this season.We plan to inscribe the phrase "Yūki Rinrin" (overflowing with bold, spirited courage) on the Kumamon Daruma we present to him.We also welcome suggestions for other inspiring phrases from our supporters.(Please leave your suggestions in the comments section when making your contribution.)
■ From Kumamoto to the World—Another Meaning
Kumamoto has endured major disasters, including the Kumamoto earthquakes and the torrential rains of July 2020.Yet, the people have risen up and moved forward—slowly but surely.Player Murakami’s home runs serve as a symbol of that recovery, delivering the strength to "stand tall once again" to Kumamoto.This project embodies that very wish.Furthermore, there are regions across Japan—not just Kumamoto—facing various disasters; Player Murakami’s achievements will surely bring energy, courage, and hope to the people living there as well.And if that energy, courage, and hope can reach those who are suffering around the world, the value of this project will truly take flight on a global scale.
■ Project Activities
1) Production of an original Kumamon *daruma* doll (after the crowdfunding campaign ends)
2) Formal proposal to the Chicago White Sox (We have received a positive response regarding a presentation ceremony at the venue and are currently coordinating the schedule)
3) Collection of messages of support and publication as a book (Kindle) (scheduled for August, after the campaign ends)
4) Production of support videos (Japanese/English) (scheduled for August, after the campaign ends)
5) Reporting event (A session in Kumamoto City to report on the presentation ceremony with player Murakami; we plan to invite Kumamon to appear as well. Scheduled for October or later)
