In 2024 we have collected unused bicycle in Matsue to support students living in Benin rural area students. We would like to thanks all the people who contributed to this project. Thank you for your support, kindness and love for our educational community.

We have finalised the #111Project.
Unfortunately, we were unable to find a logistics company to ship the collected bicycles to Africa. The bicycles were exposed to wind, snow and sun, which damaged them. Following discussions with Shimane University and the board members, we released the bicycles and will take the time to plan more effectively in future. Nevertheless, we learnt many lessons from this experience, met wonderful people and received tremendous support that we had not anticipated.

Nevertheless, although we weren't able to deliver the bicycle this time, these challenges did not discourage us from moving forward. Thanks to your donations, we have continued to work on creating a better education system for children in developing countries, inspired by the Japanese model.
In September 2025, we started Japanese online study with students in west african countries such as Ivory Coast, Togo, Benin. We have registered more than 40 students from over eight countries throughout our different sessions !

【JIL-CC】: Japanese and International Language Commnunity Center
---------------------------------------
A Language and Cultural Exchange Center Connecting Japan and the World
Objectives of the JIL-CC
The JIL-CC aims to establish a language and cultural exchange center that connects Japan and the world. “Education Community the organization to which we belong, is dedicated to connecting local communities with the world.
Challenges Faced by Foreign Residents in the Community
Many international students and foreign residents live in Matsue City. However, the language barrier often makes it difficult for them to fully understand Japanese culture or build connections with local residents.

Why Learning Japanese Is Important for Foreigners
Language is not merely a means of communication; it is the most important tool for understanding a country’s culture and values.
For this reason, we aim to support the creation of an environment where international students will be able to take university courses in Japanese in the future.

Activities of the JIL-CC
This exchange center will offer a variety of language programs—with a focus on Japanese language learning as well as cross-cultural exchange programs.
• Program --> Japanese lesson + Practice exercise (Vocabulary, Grammar, Listening, Kanji)
• Speaking --> Social exchange with local people (Cooking, Hiking, Music, Painting, farming etc)
• Part time job opportunity --> Student volunteer teaching assistant
• Target 1--> Internationals student who want to learn Japanese
• Target 2 --> Japanese speaker who want to teach Japanese and practice French or English
The Society We Aim to Create
We aim to create a community where everyone—regardless of nationality or background—can live with peace of mind as a member of the local community. We are also committed to creating an environment where more international students can receive specialized Japanese language instruction.

Why This JIL-CC Now?
As globalization continues to advance, the internationalization of local communities has become more important than ever. JIL-CC is a new initiative aimed at achieving this goal.
Many students in developing countries are interested in Japanese culture and education, but the language poses a barrier. Furthermore, many international students and foreign residents in Japan cannot speak the Japanese necessary to interact smoothly with locals or understand the culture. Japanese language schools are expensive and lack flexibility. The cost of a one-year Japanese language course can run as high as approximately 815,000 yen. Furthermore, comprehensive programs designed for effective Japanese language learning are not easily accessible. Learning on one’s own is difficult. Therefore, if there were a community where people could learn together, read books, ask questions of experienced native speakers, and participate in social activities, it would boost their motivation to speak Japanese and serve as a gateway to embracing the culture.
JIL-CC Implementation Structure
“Education de Vie” has organized numerous international exchange activities to date. We will draw on that experience to manage the JIL-CC.
The experience gained through studying Japanese on “French Campus Online” will help provide similar opportunities to international students at Matsue and those in other prefectures who can participate online.
