荒木航と申します。この度はご支援に興味を持っていただき大変ありがとうございます！この度はオーストラリアのメルボルン大学の教育学修士号プログラムに行くことが決まったのですが、そのために必要な資金調達を願いクラウドファンディングを始めさして頂きました。ほんの少しでも構いませんので、ファンドしていただけたら幸いです。

Hi Everyone!

I'm Wataru and thank you every one of you for your interest in supporting my pursuance of master's programme! I have fortunately received an offer to study at the University of Melbourne in Australia but am facing difficulties sourcing finances. Hence, I have decided to start a crowdfund! Your support is much appreciated!

現在、２４歳、マラヤ大学の経済学課程を終えた新卒業生です。卒業成績はおかげさまで First Class Honours (最優秀賞）を受賞しました。その他、大学内の留学生を代表する生徒会長にノミネートされるなど学問以外にも活発にちからを入れていました。

僕は９歳まで、日本でごく普通の生活を市立小学校に通いながらしていました。それから突然、親の都合でマレーシアに引っ越すことになり、初めは５年だった予定がちょっとずつ延び、小・中・高と、結局大学までマレーシアで過ごすことになりました。今は現在、コロナの影響もあり日本に一時帰国しております。

この度、クラウドファンディングを利用しようと思った主な理由は、日本の高校を出ていないため、JASSOや国内の民間企業が給付している多くの奨学金制度に申し込めないからです。中には申し込みが可能で、ありがたく支援をして頂きましたが、それ尚資金が足りず、資金調達に困っている状況です。親も無職で弟が２人いまして、弟の教育費用にもお金が必要で修士課程の負担はできません。ですので、ぜひご支援していただけたらと思います。

自身が「なぜ教育修士課程に進学を希望」するのかについてですが、私はマレーシアに渡り、特にはじめの数年は周りの環境に馴染むのに大変苦労をしました。当然、マレーシアに行く前に少しながら英語の塾へは通ったのですが、まったく意味がありませんでした。皆さまも、環境の変化に適応をする難しさを味わったことはあるのではないでしょうか。こういう状況は世界中誰でも経験することであり、ある人は他の人より難しくないかもしれません。しかし例えば、中東のシリアやイエメンで起きている紛争によって、母国を去ることを余技なくされる人々などが違う国に移民として生活するとなるとそれは想像を絶するつらさや難しさだと思います。

僕はこういう方々を含め、違う環境に適応する方々の手助けを「教育」を通じてしたいと思っており、教育学の道を選びました。オーストラリアに留学することで、より多くの国々の人たちと知り合うことや、もっと世界各国の教育業界について詳しくなれると思います。

将来、世界のどこかに、「適応」の手助けをする自身の塾・学校も設立したいと考えております。

I have just graduated from a Bachelor of Economics programme at the University of Malaya, Malaysia. I was fortunately awarded First Class Honours. Besides academics, I had actively taken part in various clubs and societies which the biggest highlight for me was being nominated to be the president of the student body which represents all international students in the university.

So this is my background:

Until the age of 9, I was like any other ordinary Japanese boy who went to a public primary school just nearby my house. But the change suddenly took place and I had to move over to Malaysia. Initially, life in Malaysia was supposed to be only for 5 years, but in the end, it became a place where I will spend my life until university. Due to the current difficult situation of world pandemic, I am temporarily back in Japan.

The main reason why I have decided to start crowdfunding to pursue my master's programme was since I have not gone to a Japanese high school (and graduated), there aren’t many scholarship opportunities for me to apply. Of course, they were several opportunities that I was luckily able to apply and fortunately was able to receive funding assistance, it is not enough to pay up for the tuition fees. I can not rely on my family either as they are unemployed. I have two younger brothers which they must look after. It will be greatly appreciated if you could spare even just a little bit to help me pursue my education.

Regarding “Why I would like to pursue the master’s programme in education?”, is due to my own experiences in the past of finding difficulties adapting to new environment and situations. The first few years after moving from Japan to Malaysia was especially hard. Despite learning English prior to the move, I did not understand anything, and it was useless. I was literally just there, only knowing alphabets. I believe you must have experienced the difficulties in “adapting” to a new environment. This is something common across the world especially in this time of globalisation. Like in the Middle East, countries like Syria and Yemen are suffering from long civil war and innocent people are forced to flee from their countries to seek better security elsewhere. Adapting to the new country they have fled to for example is something which I cannot possibly imagine.

Through my specialisation in the subject of education, I would like to spare my helping hand to these people to assist them in adapting to change. By studying Australia, I would be able to meet with people from all over the world and be able to have a fluent understanding of the subject of the education of the world.

In the future, I wish to establish my own centre/school to aiming to assist those “adapting” to changes.

Hence, it will be appreciated if you could spare your assistance in funding my education. Even a little would be greatly appreciated.
