フリーレンジとは

鶏肉が他のお肉に比べて安いのには理由があります。日本の全ての農場がそうではありませんが、利益のために厳しい環境に置かれている鳥さん達がいることも事実です。

フリーレンジとは鳥さん達が小屋から自由に外に出たり、入ったりすることができる環境のことです。私は友人の農場を訪ねたときに、この事実を知って衝撃を受けました。

これがカナダにある我々の実際の農場です。

「環境に優しい選択を、あなたと一緒に。」には、鳥さん達に対する想いと、良い環境で育てられた鳥さんを食べることで得られる健康的メリットの、両方の想いが込められています。

ターキーの魅力

日本ではディズニーランドでぐらいしか食べる機会のないターキーですが、ターキーは高タンパク・低脂肪なのでダイエットにも最適です。

また味にクセがなく、実際にカナダで暮らしている私の家族は、カナダ産やアメリカ産の「個性的」なお肉が苦手で、カレーや肉じゃがなど、豚バラや牛ロースの代わりに毎日食べています。

カナダのスーパーにはステーキ用の大きなブロック肉しか売っていないという謎な理由もあります。こちらに住んでる日本人は業務用のお肉のスライサーが各家庭にあります（笑）

プロジェクト立ち上げの背景

私たちのプロジェクトは、日本でのフリーレンジ養鶏文化が根付いていないことに気づいたことから始まりました。健康と環境を考える現代の消費者に、持続可能で倫理的な食の選択肢を提供することが私たちの使命と考えています。

プロジェクトの実行者について

私のカナダの友人夫婦は、美しいカナダの自然環境の中で、愛情を込めてフリーレンジのターキーを育てています。彼らは、ターキーたちが自然のままの環境で健やかに育つことを第一に考え、持続可能で環境に優しい方法で飼育しています。私たちは、この哲学に基づいた養鶏方法を日本にも広めていきたいと思っています。

このプロジェクトで実現したいこと

日本市場にカナダ産フリーレンジターキーを紹介し、健康的で動物福祉に配慮した食品の選択肢を増やすことが私たちの目標です。

高品質で栄養豊富なターキーを通じて、日本の消費者の皆さまに新しい食体験を提供したいと考えています。

これまでの活動と準備状況

農場では、動物の福祉を最優先に、飼育環境の改善と質の高い育成方法に力を入れてきました。ターキーの健康と品質にこだわり、現在日本への輸出準備を整えています。

支援者の皆さまには、フリーレンジターキーの特別セットをお届けします。

また、バンクーバーへの案内プランを提供し、実際に農場を訪れて私たちの取り組みを体験していただくプログラムもご用意しています。ターキーの健康的な生活を支援し、持続可能な食文化を共に築く機会になると考えています。

実施スケジュール

今年４月に輸出のライセンスを取得し、同じく暖かくなる４月からターキーの飼育を開始します。船での輸送を考慮すると今年の１０月に販売を開始する予定です。現在、生産施設の準備、カナダから日本への輸送の準備、日本での倉庫の準備など、着実に準備を進めています。

今後のスケージュール予定

2024年４月 輸出のライセンスを取得
2024年４月 ターキーの飼育を開始（暖かくなってから）
2024年７月 ターキーの日本への輸送開始
2024年８月 日本での倉庫の準備
2024年８〜９月 ターキー日本へ到着（海洋状況により最大２ヶ月かかることがあります）
2024年10月 ターキーの日本への輸送開始

What is Free-Range?

Chicken is often more affordable than other types of meat, but some farms in Japan may subject birds to harsh conditions to increase profits. It's important to note that not all farms operate in this way. 

Free-range farming, which allows birds to roam outside their coops and return at will, is a more humane alternative. I was surprised to learn about this issue when I visited a friend's farm. 
This is our actual farm in Canada.

Let's work together to make environmentally conscious choices that promote the well-being of birds and the health benefits of consuming birds raised in suitable environments.

Why choose the Turkeys?

Turkey meat is not commonly consumed in Japan, except for at Disneyland. However, it is a great source of protein and is low in fat, making it an excellent choice for those following a diet plan. 

Background of the Project Launch

Our project started when I noticed that free-range poultry farming culture is not prevalent in Japan. We aim to provide sustainable and ethical food options to contemporary consumers who prioritize their health and the environment.

About Us

My friend from Canada has a family that raises free-range turkeys with care in Canada's beautiful natural environment. They prioritize the health and natural upbringing of the turkeys, utilizing sustainable and environmentally friendly farming practices. Our goal is to promote and adopt this philosophy and method of poultry farming in Japan.

What We Aim to Achieve with This Project

We aim to introduce Canadian free-range turkey to the Japanese market, increasing the options for healthy, animal welfare-conscious food choices and providing a new culinary experience to Japanese consumers through high-quality, nutritious turkey.

Activities and Preparation Status

Animal welfare is a top priority at the farm. We strive to improve breeding environments and the quality of upbringing. Our commitment to the turkeys' health and quality has led us to prepare for export to Japan.

About the Rewards

Our supporters will receive a special selection of free-range turkeys. We also offer a comprehensive guide to Vancouver, which includes a program that allows you to visit our farm and witness our initiatives in person. This is a unique opportunity to promote turkeys' healthy lifestyle and contribute to developing a sustainable food culture.

Implementation Schedule

We plan to acquire the export license by April this year and raise turkeys from April as the weather gets warmer. We aim to initiate sales in October this year, with sea shipping being a consideration. We are steadily preparing for this by setting up production facilities, arranging transportation from Canada to Japan, and preparing warehouses in Japan.

Future Schedule

February 2024: The crowdfunding campaign will end. 
April 2024: Obtain the export license required for transporting turkeys to Japan. 
April 2024: Start raising turkeys once the weather gets warmer. 
July 2024: Begin transporting turkeys to Japan. 
August 2024: Prepare warehouses in Japan to store the turkeys. 
August-September 2024: Turkey transportation to Japan may take up to two months, depending on marine conditions. 
October 2024: Start selling turkeys in Japan.
