A particular kind of compressed air dryer known as a desiccant air dryer takes moisture out of compressed air using a desiccant substance. Desiccant air dryers come in a variety of varieties, each with unique benefits and drawbacks. Desiccant air dryers that employ a blower to remove moisture from the air's source. Compressed air is initially sent through a pre-filter in a blower purge desiccant air drier to get rid of any big particles or pollutants. The moisture is then removed from the air as it passes over a bed of desiccant material. The drier then lets go of the dry air, which is needed in the process. A blower blows a stream of dry air through the desiccant bed while the dry air is being used to remove the moisture from the air. After then, the moist air is vented into the atmosphere. Blower purge desiccant air dryers have a higher energy efficiency than heatless desiccant air dryers, although they fall short of heated desiccant air dryers in this regard.
