I have been a resident of Tsukuba-shi (Ibaraki-ken, Japan) for 17 years. I currently own and teach at Spoken Language, a language school and cultural-exchange space.

After these 17 years of teaching, I have gradually implemented new techniques into my teaching method, including cultural exchange. So far, it has been a success. I have seen significant improvements in my students’ overall ability to speak English based on this cultural exchange. Unfortunately, there are many things needed for the school to accommodate such cultural classes.

The main goal of this crowdfunding campaign is to raise funds to upgrade the lighting system in the school, and to purchase equipment necessary for classes in dance, music, art, and cooking; this includes but isn’t limited to mirrors, a 2nd oven, hand-mixer, foldable tables, and casters. 

With the efforts made both at Spoken Language as well as outside of the school, it is my hope that what is learned will help the Japanese improve and maintain Japan's presence on the global stage by training the next generation of young Japanese capable to lead and perform beyond global expectation.
