Project Description in English

This project has been created by Eggworm K.K., an events marketing agency located in Shibuya. With the current pandemic, many of our planned events have been postponed/cancelled, and we want to use this time to give back and support the frontline workers and help other businesses stay afloat.

On April 13, 2020, we donated 500 masks to Makita General Hospital. Then the idea of “Taxi Ovation” began.

So what is Taxi Ovation? It is a way for us to give thanks to the healthcare workers during this pandemic. It will allow them to take a free taxi ride to/from their workplace. This will provide time for them to relax while minimizing the worry of spreading the infection while commuting on public transportation.

For this initial fundraiser, we have partnered with Makita General Hospital and the taxi companies Condor Magome Kotsu Co., Ltd. and Kyoritsu Taxi Co., Ltd.

Preventing the healthcare system from collapsing is our priority. The taxi drivers will implement disinfection measures as advised by the doctors. Our goal is to provide ease to the medical workers while providing businesses for the taxi companies that have seen a major decline in business over the past weeks. Eventually we want to expand this project, Taxi Ovation, to places like nursing and childcare facilities. Every medical worker deserves thanks for their hard work, so let’s all unite and give them a Taxi Ovation.
