Solo exhibition with my lovely Kinako and Norio -  uncovering the unknown cuteness

Shed light on hidden pieces that no one has ever viewed and I have never let anyone view.

My name is Kayo Sato. Thank you for visiting my page.

As an artist, I, under the name Sugar Sato, have been creating and selling LINE sticker series including those entitled "Awesome Japan" and "Awesome Japan - Super Sushi Edition-."

The style of my LINE sticker work can be found below:

My fundraising here has nothing to do with LINE stickers, though - it's for showing the paintings of my cats.

"Space Cats"

When I paint, I try to reflect the colors, atmosphere, and lights I see as precisely as possible based on the photos.

My previous work can be viewed on my webpage:

This project aims to hold my first solo exhibition with my lovely cats. I'm thinking of expanding my painting materials and tools and having exhibitions in metropolitan Tokyo in the future.

This project should be my first step. The exhibition will be held on a small scale in Kawagoe, Saitama.

I invite you to view the pieces of my work that I have never displayed in public and feel personally subtle color gradations and brush moves.

(My work is very tiny as opposed to what you might have expected.)

I feel unsatisfied with the painting materials I have and I expect to better express myself by painting on a larger canvas with more varied paints.

By so expanding the way I paint through this campaign,  I will further dedicate myself to painting so that people enjoy my work.

There were days during the pandemic I felt unhappy with many things. But I remember a happy surprise when I started to paint my cats and noticed completely new ways of my color selection and brushwork.

I initially painted in crayons like these:

In-house exhibition "Sleepy Norio"

This is the piece I used paint for the first time:

While it's hard for me to like myself, I somehow feel attached to, and at peace with, my paintings. This is just "praising the pieces you paint" as the Japanese saying goes, but I do feel like my paintings approve of me and kindly support me.

I wish they will be the tiny light or supporter of your life as well.

Above all, I just hope you enjoy my pieces. This urges me to learn how to exhibit my work, expand my material choices, and continue to paint through this project.

I continue to dedicate myself to painting and appreciate your support for my continued journey.
