J-TRAD Ensemble MAHOROBAについて

初めまして。J-TRAD Ensemble MAHOROBAと申します。我々は、日本の伝統楽器を用いた音楽活動を通じて、伝統を重んじながらも革新的な表現を追求するグループです。日本の楽器から生まれる音色には、この国の奥深い精神が息づいています。私たちはその精神を現代へ、そして世界へ届けることをライフワークとしています。

昨年の韓国公演から今へ

昨年10月、韓国のチームがソウルでの公演を企画してくださいました。その成功を通じて、国境を越えた音楽交流の力を確かに感じることができました。韓国の演奏家たちとの出会い、異なる文化背景を持つアーティストたちとの協働の時間は、私たちに新しい創作の視点をもたらしました。その経験から生まれた想いが、今回のプロジェクトへと繋がっています。

来月4月8日の日本公演

今度は私たちが韓国のチームを招聘し、日本の舞台で再び共に作品を創ります。音楽と舞踊が交差する、日韓両国の文化が織り成す一夜になります。しかし物価上昇に伴い、招聘費用が想定を大きく超えており、この公演をより充実したものへ昇華させるためにクラウドファンディングへの挑戦を決意いたしました。

伝統の継承と革新への想い

私たちが大切にしていることは、単なる伝統の保存ではなく、伝統と現代の対話です。日本の音色を世界の舞台で輝かせるために、私たちは常に新しい表現方法を模索しています。来月の公演は、その想いを最も純粋に表現できる機会となります。

そして世界へ

実は10月にはニューヨークでの公演も予定しており、日本文化を世界へ発信することが急務となっています。この4月の公演で得られる経験と自信は、その先の世界への道を確かなものにするでしょう。

Nice to meet you—we are J-TRAD Ensemble MAHOROBA.

Through music rooted in traditional Japanese instruments, we seek to honor tradition while pursuing bold, innovative expression. The sounds of these instruments carry the depth and spirit of Japan itself. It is our life’s work to bring that spirit into the present—and share it with the world.

From Seoul to the present.

Last October, our Korean collaborators invited us to perform in Seoul. Through the success of that concert, we truly felt the power of musical exchange across borders. Meeting Korean musicians and collaborating with artists from different cultural backgrounds gave us entirely new creative perspectives. The inspiration born from that experience has led directly to this new project.

The April 8 Performance in Japan

Now, we welcome them to Japan. This time, we will invite the Korean team to Japan and create a new work together on a Japanese stage. It will be an evening where music and dance intersect—where the cultures of Japan and Korea are woven into a single artistic experience. However, due to rising costs, the expenses required to invite the artists have far exceeded our initial expectations. In order to elevate this performance into something truly meaningful, we have decided to launch this crowdfunding campaign.

Our Vision: Tradition and Innovation

What we value is not simply preserving tradition, but creating a dialogue between tradition and the present. To bring the sound of Japan to the global stage, we are constantly searching for new forms of expression. This upcoming performance will be our purest opportunity yet to embody that vision.

Looking Beyond—To the World

We are also planning a performance in New York this coming October. Sharing Japanese culture on the global stage has become an urgent and important mission for us. The experience and confidence we gain from this April performance will be a crucial step toward that international future.
