申請者は、日本画家佐瀬知子と申します。よろしくお願いします。

この度は、「琳派(りんぱ)の水墨画の展覧会を成功させたく、皆さまのご支援を募らせて頂きます。
どうぞよろしくお願い申し上げます！

「琳派(りんぱ)」とは？日本の絵画の流派のひとつです。歴史のあるもので、安土桃山から江戸初期に俵屋宗達(京都の画家)という人が始めました。風神さんと雷神さんの図屏風や、最近、美術展などで「琳派400年」という言葉を聞いた方もいらっしゃると思います！

Hello,my name is Tomoko Sase.I am an artist who does painting art in Japanese traditional style,especially in Rim(n)pa style.Rimpa is one of major art school in Japan. Rimpa's one of founder is Sotatsu Tawaraya, painted famous folding screens of Wind God and Thunder God, so you might have seen his masterpiece. He is the person in around early the Edo period, Japan. Still now, Rimpa'a art style is circulated, some of you might have heard this word,"400 years anniversary of Rimpa" in museum. 

▼琳派について、ざっくりとご説明--- A brief introduction of what is Rimpa

この琳派という流派は、本阿弥光悦・俵屋宗達(京都の画家)を元祖とし、
尾形光琳(京都の画家)という人に引き継がれます。

その後、江戸中期～後期くらいに、酒井抱一(姫路藩出身)という琳派の画家に、引き継がれます。

抱一は武士の出身であり、「琳派の画法」を、代々子孫である酒井家の長男に伝承します。そして今日も尚、「琳派の墨絵（すみえ）」が継承されています。

This art style,Rimpa, was passed down to generations to generations. One of major successor was Korin Ogata, known as a painter of the folding screens of Kakitsubata(Irises) .
Around after the middle of the Edo period, Hoitsu Sakai became a successor of this art style. He was from warrior family, which regards family is most important thing. So, he decided to pass down the art methods of Rimpa continuously to the first sons in Sakai family. Thanks to his Sakai family, we are still able to learn Rimpa' art methods.

▼水墨画について、簡単なご説明。---A brief historical background of Sumie ink wash painting in Japan

　13世紀ごろに中国から日本に伝えられた水墨画ですが、その後日本では独自の発展を遂げていきます。
たくましいものです。

日本では、墨の色の濃いところから、淡くうすい感じのところまでの幅がひろく、
詩的な画風が好まれ、
また、繊細で微妙な違いを表現するために、
様々な絵の工夫・描き方・筆運びが開発されました。

It says that around 13th century, Sumie ink wash painting was brought from China to Japan. This art style has been developed in Japan in unique way, to meet with Japanese audiences demands, which was lyrical and tender expression in subtle nuances. Painters in Japan started using various tones of gray colors and more complex brush strokes to achieve delicate and high skillful painting style. 

酒井家のなかに子孫代々、大切に受け継がれてきた私共の「琳派の墨絵（りんぱのすみえ）」は、
江戸時代の日本の水墨画です。

本来絵画の基礎でしたが難解であり、西洋化にも押され、今では珍しくなりました。

私は「琳派の墨絵」を受け継がせて頂いている者です。そして、この伝統の継承と、そして発展のために尽力しています。

Sumie ink wash painting was used be regarded as an important basic training for painters in Japan, however, this painting methods which developed in Japan was gradually diminished due to its difficulty. It has been pushed away by westernization so a fewer people continued it. Most of ink wash painting classes in Japan now a day is in Chinese style. Thanks to Sakai family's significant efforts,we are still able to know the methods of ink painting in Japanese style; and I am the one who succeed this art style. I've been working for this precious art to be flourish. 

---「琳派の墨絵」という貴重な財産を　譲り受けたものの、
後世に道具がなければ、存続しえない。という考えに至り、奉仕の気持ちで
琳派の水墨画を存続するために、
2014年に「琳派墨絵クラブ」を発足しました。現在は定期レッスンも開講しています。

To promote ink painting and it  Rimpa style art, I established "Rimpa Sumie Club" in 2014.　
Even I had studied Japanese ink painting, if I didn't have materials in future, I cannot pass it to the next generations. Started my teaching career at one day experience lessons, and now I have 6 of regular classes.

大学での水墨画体験レッスン。硯も墨も筆もはじめて持つ参加者ばかり。小さな一歩づつが、いつか効果を現すのではないかと思います。Experience workshop for very beginners at universities.Getting closer to closer to this classic art will be a big step in future.（画像は許可を得て掲載/Permitted image）

「琳派の墨絵(りんぱのすみえ)」は、とても貴重で文化的な財産です。
しかし、水墨画自体に人口が少なく、筆や紙などの道具諸共に、消えてしまいかねない訳です。

皆さん、この様な伝統絵画ですが、一度やってみたいと思いませんか？

私は未来の社会でも、そして今の職人さんたちにも
後継者を育てよう、という気持ちになってもらえるように。との思いから、
「日本の水墨画」を、後世に遺すべく活動をしています。

Sumie in Rimpa style, passed down from the Hoitsu Sakai family, is a valuable cultural heritage, which tells us Japan's sense of beauty and tenderness. However, this is not widely opened to society and almost disappeared with traditional art materials due to the reduction of population of ink painters in younger generation. I would like to pass down this painting style to the next generations, as well as I'd like to something to encourage craftsmen in traditional industry. For this reason, today, Rimpa Sumie Club asks you to help us to hold our exhibition to promote this Japanese  traditional style ink painting art.

▼このプロジェクトで実現したいこと ---My aim for this project

日本の水墨画は、どこに行けば習えるのか分からない、
白い髭のこわいお爺さんが出てくるかもしれない、
皆さんにとって　けっこうな”未知の世界”　です。

いや、笑い事じゃないです、結構、本当にこれで皆さん　『二の足』　を踏むんです。

While ink painting lesson is unknown world, people imagine that it might threat you,
a white beard senior master might punish you ...

そこで、
来年（2020年）の8月25日～8月30日まで6日間、
銀座の『鳩居堂』という老舗の画廊をお借りし、作品発表会を開催したいと思います。

・ここに日本の水墨画は存続しています
・水墨画はこんなに楽しくやれます
・伝統を大事に守り、育てることがどんなに大切なことなのか。

こうした事に対する、私達の取り組みをこそ、アピールするためです。

To promote ink painting and expand its population, I decided to hold an art exhibition at great
"Kyukyo-do"gallery in Ginza,Tokyo for 6 days, from the 25th to 30th August, 2020.　
"Here, our Japanese ink painting is exist.""Anyone can enjoy learning ink painting" and "What is value to preserve and promote traditional culture? This is our answer." For these our messages, we'd like to send to society.

▼プロジェクトをやろうと思った理由--- My reasons to start this project

海外からのゲストにお会いすると、今は大体どこの国の方も、
「自分達の国の伝統文化は、食事も中世から続いていた毎年の祭りも、
保存されずみんな消えようとしている。」と、焦燥感で一杯になっておっしゃいます。

伝統に触れる事の意味は感じにくくなっており、
今の時代にも合ったものにするには、知恵が必要です。

しかし、これらの伝統文化がごく自然な形で、今日まで続いてきた訳ではないのです。
日本でもどこの国でも、連綿とした人の努力があるおかげです。これに価値観を持っている人の姿が、
社会全体の価値観になるまで、ちょっと足りていないかも知れません。

Now my oversea guests say that cultural events and foods which had been continued since medieval in their countries are almost about vanished, not preserved in society. Our lifestyle is so far from having traditional experience. Further wisdom is required to make the tradition fit to our modern sense. However, it is not like those traditional events have been preserved in natural. There must have been many people's efforts to sustain those culture. We might need a little more occasions to think about our traditions.

鳩居堂は、1663年（寛文3年） に京都にできた日本の文房具の老舗です。
「日本の伝統文化を守り育てる」　をモットーに掲げていらっしゃいます。

Kyukyo-do ,established since 1663,  regarded one of the oldest stationary store in Japan.They have motto on protecting Japanese traditional culture.

▼『鳩居堂画廊』とは ---About the Kyukyo-do gallery

この老舗文房具店の鳩居堂には、日本の伝統文化の継承と発展に寄与する目的で
オープンされた画廊があります。
鳩居堂は、本当に日本文化について詳しい方がやっている、理解のある場所なのです。

This stationary shop has gallery to protect and promote Japanese traditional culture.
This is a special gallery where people already dedicate to Japanese culture run.

この度、皆さまにご支援を賜りたいのは、
この「鳩居堂」ギャラリーの会場費：50万円です。

Today, Rimpa Sumie Club is asking you this rent fee for the Kyukyodo gallery for 6 days and some other expenses: 500,000 yen. I would so appreciate your support. Thank you so much.

どうかこの活動の主旨と意欲をご理解くださって、ご支援いただけますよう
よろしくお願い申し上げます。

▼資金の使い道 ---Schedule to use collected money 

・会場費が77万円です。
（70万円の税込ですが、消費税率10％で見積もるようにギャラリー側から言われていおります。）
その内の、半額である35万円を、「前払い金」としてお納めします。

・今現在の生徒数は25名です。毎月1,000円ずつの発表会積立を行います。

1ヶ月＝25,000円
再来年8月まで14ヶ月分＝350,000円。しかし、実際にはこの中から2019年の発表会費用も賄います。

2020年の鳩居堂での発表会は、宣伝・DM、礼状発送に6万円、
額装に8万円、お茶代に1万円の合計15万円をその他経費予算に計上しています。
会場代の「前払い金」35万円と合わせて50万円をどうかご支援いただきたく、
どうぞよろしくお願いいたします。

Rent fee for the gallery is 700,000 yen for 6 days, plus tax will be 10% in 2020.(Gallery side asked me
to count up with 10% tax) . 350,000 yen as a half amount should be paid in advance.
Currently, each 25 student start reserve fund 1,000 yen each month. 14 month later until August 2020,
this reservation will become 350,000 yen. However, expenses for the exhibition in 2019 will be paid from this
reservation.For another expenses,150,000 yen is estimated. 500,000 yen is my target figure at this cloud funding. I wish I could have your cooperation and encouragement for my Rimpa Sumie Club's activity.

▼宣伝について---About advertising

この2020年の展示の宣伝については、（店舗で行う方法）鳩居堂のホームページ、会期中の店頭でのポスター掲示とDM陳列、（自分達で行う方法）ホームページ、ブログ、FaceBook、Twitter、Instagram、Googleビジネス、などのインターネットを使ったもの。／DMを配り歩く地道な方法。／その他の画材店でのポスター、DM配布、顧客の皆さんへのDM配布等です。

At the gallery: Kyukyo-do website, posters and postcards will be placed in the shop.
By myself: Information at website page, blog,FaceBook,Twitter,Instagram,Google business...sending and passing postcards. Some of art material shop in Tokyo have place for DM.

This ink painting in Rimpa style is an accumulation of thousands of wisdom of people those who
dedicated their whole lives to art. It could be said that this Rimpa's Japanese ink painting is a valuable heritage which tells us Japan's sense of beauty. I wish we continue taking care this heritage and share this wisdom. Already, people from all over the world come to take my experience class. They are creators,artists, architects and even composer too!　It doesn't matter the major or genre of study, even you were not a painter but a scholar, 
I hope people come to learn essence and philosophy of　this Rimpa's art. This will give you inspirations all through your life. This is how I am confident.

 ▼佐瀬知子と「琳派墨絵クラブ」について、これまでの活動／My profile/my activity

東京都町田市生まれ。日本文化をこよなく愛する両親のもと、幼少の頃から日本の伝統に興味を持つ。水墨画に憧れて、中学生時代より独学していたため、中学校前校長だった酒井抱道先生(雨華庵6世)と出会う契機をいただく。女子美術大学附属高校、京都精華大学(日本画専攻)を卒業。アメリカ合衆国(オハイオ州)の私立大学に勤務、日本語および日本文化のクラスを2年間担当。2014年「琳派墨絵クラブ」発足、日本の水墨画を未来に繋げたいという熱い思いで体験レッスン等を実施。以来、世田谷区役所、品川区役所、都内の国立大学、私立大学、企業のご賛同・ご協力を得て多数開催。各国大使館職員もレッスンの常連です。
2018年、南青山に事務所を開設。日本人、海外の留学生、大人～子どもまで、アメリカ、オーストラリア、ヨーロッパ、北欧、インドネシア、中東、中国、韓国などあらゆる地域から水墨画レッスンに参加して頂いている (2017年～約350名)。

【メディア】「Hanako」などの雑誌特集掲載。MXテレビ「お江戸に恋して」にて撮影協力、水墨画のご紹介をさせて頂きました (2019年8月24日放映)。

Born in Tokyo, started to have big interest in Japanese traditional culture since child  under parents who loved tradition. Studied ink painting by myself at 13, had a chance to see Mr.Sakai , a former principal teacher in my junior high school. He was also 6th master of Rinpa school. Graduated from Joshibi high school of art and design and Kyoto Seika University at art major. Taught at private college in Ohio, the US as a T.A. at Japanese language and cultural studies department  for 2 years. Established Rimpa Sumie Club in 2014 with the aim of introducing Japanese ink painting art. Started experience lessons which Embassy staff people often use under cooperation of Ward offices, Universities and colleges and companies in Tokyo. Opened Rimpa Sumie Club office in Aoyama in 2018. Adult to children, Japanese to exchange students, from everywhere in the world, about 350 participants have joined to my experience lessons( data :since 2017).

Media: Magazines as feature articles. TV show: will be appear on the show at Tokyo MX television, August 24th, 2019. Cooperated to introduce ink painting art.

私は来年の作品展示を
将来の文化の発展にも貢献できるような展示にしたいという思いと、
生徒さんの作品も　きちんとした場所に置いて評価してあげたいという想いがあります。

I would like to put my students work on better and fine place to encourage them.
I would like to make my exhibition contribute to culture in future society.

この伝統の恩恵に授かれる境遇を、今の私達で終わらせて良い筈はなく、
これが、もう遅いかもしれない、間に合わないで保存できない部分もいっぱい出てきてしまうかもしれない、と焦燥感で満たされる時もあります。何でも、できるところから始めてみよう、というまっさらな気持ちです。
