⑴習合について　

巷で氾濫に近く使われる言葉で「コラボ」と言う言葉がありますが、これはあまりに範囲が広過ぎて…なんでもかんでもくっ付けたものまでも含んでいます。

　我々のやろうとする事は、単に違うジャンルのものをくっ付けて珍しい事をして人目を引こうというものではありません。

もう少し深まったものに「融合」という言葉がありますが、更にその先に「習合」があると考えています。

テーマはもちろん統一性が必須ですが、高い精神性・芸術的クオリティを基にして、初めから終わりまでが１つになっていなければなりません。

今回の真の発起人ブラウリオが、我々日本人アーティストではなく、日本に住む外国人アーティストである事は大きな意味があると思います。

この事は日本人としてとても嬉しいことであると同時に、日本人がもっと同じような気持ちになって欲しい、見倣って欲しいとさえ思いました。

そして彼のアーティストのチョイスも素晴らしいものでした。流石、東京バレエ団の演出家だけのことはあります。

洋の東西を問わず、芸術の根源は祈りです。それは宗教創生以前からのことです。

芸術は宗教の母という言葉もあります。

能は祈りの芸能として、1300年、続いてきました。

思想や文学を深く取り入れてからは、哲学性が増しましたが、未だに祈りの心は豊かであり、私どもが能を勤める際にはこの精神を忘れることはありません。

今回、素晴らしいアーティストと共に一つのテーマで一つの神域空間で、祈りの習合が出来ることはとても幸せな事と楽しみにしています。

About this performance:

To describe this project one could at first think of the word “collaboration” which is commonly used to describe different things coming together, but it is too broad. 

What we are trying to do is not simply to attach different genres and do unusual things to get a lot of looks.The word "fusion" is a bit deeper, but I think that this project goes beyond that.

The theme of this project requires unity, and it must be united from beginning to end based on high spirituality and artistic quality.

I think it is significant that the founder of this project, Braulio,  is not a Japanese artist but a foreign artist living in Japan. As a Japanese, this brings me great pleasure, and at the same time, I wish more Japanese would see this and think of connecting with their beautiful culture. And as it was to be expected from one of the choreographers of the Tokyo Ballet, his choice of artists for this project was great.

The roots of art come from prayer. This dates to before religion was born. There is also the saying “art is the mother of religion”. For 1300 years, Noh has been a performing art for prayer.

Philosophy has strengthened thanks to the development of human thinking and of literature. Yet, the spirituality related to praying is also very present. We never forget this spirit when performing Noh.

I am very happy and looking forward to being able to practice prayer in a sanctuary under one theme with wonderful artists.
