7月28日の投稿でも報告しましたが、秋田県教育庁を通じてこの写真集を全県の小中高校の図書館に寄贈させていただきました。これも皆様のご支援があればこそです。8月2日に行われた贈呈式には大潟村長のほか、オーストラリアの世界大会World Solar Challenge(WSC)の創設者のHans Tholstrup氏も同席されてスピーチもされました。以下はそのスピーチです。

Akita Leads the world

The launch of this great book.

Be one with the sun.

Proves that Japan understands the importance of a future for the young people.

Sadly that is not the same in the rest of the World.
In a True democracy we must put the children first.
They are the future of not just Japan. But the world.
They have the power between their ears. But that brain will only work well if educated.

It is easier for a child to understand as they have not yet become dependant on the marketing of corporations.

But with the leadership of Akita and very much the Ogata Mura solar sports line. Where the true engine of life the sun not only grows rice photosynthesis but has shown the world for 30 years that photovoltaic is as important.

One is human cleverness the other nature helped by the farmers.

Both are essential for our future.

Yes you might think that rice is more important than energy from electric power.

But ask yourself.

Is just eating alone; life as we know it today.

Few might say so. And in the science of surviving. Yes rice is number  one.

But I love the speed of light. As much as I appreciate the 8 minutes it takes to arrive from the sun.

It is also the speed of our internet.

And the slow in comparison Shinkansen. Can not run without electric power either.

So I thank you for this book. From the people who created it to the  Akita local government for sending it to all schools.

And I urge the children to not only look at it. But to reflect what a good life they have compliments of our sun.
