親愛なるきょうだいである皆さんへ

私はあなた方のこのとても美しい国に初めてお伺いしていることを、とても光栄に思いますし、身の引き締まる思いです。
この地のことを聞くことと、実際に来れることは別のことですから。

先ほど京都の素晴らしいお寺の一つを散策していた時、ある一人の女性が私のところにやって来て、どこ出身ですかと尋ねました。
たぶん彼女はパレスチナを知らないと思いつつ、「パレスチナです」と言いました。

彼女はとても美しい笑顔を浮かべ、私の手を取り、そして言ってくれたのです。
「一日も早く自由になりますように」と。
私はもう泣きそうになりました。

この美しい国の人々に感謝を込めて敬意を表したいです。
あなた方は、この世界中で苦しんでいる私たちのような多くの人々にたくさんの感動を与えてくれています。
それは、多くの苦痛を味わったにも拘わらず、繁栄することが出来るのだということです。

アースキャラバンとその世界平和の活動を支えてくださり、ありがとうございます。
どうかこの素晴らしい活動の一翼を担い、そして他の人々に伝え続けてください。

Dear brothers and sisters
I am deeply honored and humbled to be a first time visitor to your most beautiful country. To hear about a place is one thing, to experience it is something else.

Just now, walking in one of your amazing temples in Kyoto, a woman came up to me and asked me where i was from? I said Palestine. (I was thinking she would not even know it). She gave me the most beautiful smile, held my hand, and said “soon you will be free.” I almost cried.

I bow in gratitude to the people of this beautiful country. You are an inspiration to many of us who suffer around the world that despite so much pain, life can flourish fully.

Thank you for supporting the Earth Caravan and the work it is doing for global peace. Please continue to be part of this great movment and tell others.
