ゲンとは知り合ってもう10年ほどになりますが、雪の上でも、雪を離れても、努力を惜しまない彼の姿勢にはいつも感心させられてきました。冬はスキーと映画製作に打ち込みながら、宿の家業も切り盛りしている。そのこと自体が、彼がすべての物事にどれだけの情熱と献身を注いでいるかを物語っています。
日本のスキーヤーがスキーだけで生計を立てるのは、とりわけ難しいことだと感じています。ブランドからのサポートを得られる機会が限られていることが多いからです。日本のスキー市場は比較的国内で完結していますが、ヨーロッパでは国や市場同士がもっと密接につながっています。
だからこそ、皆さんにはゲンのことを、スキーヤーとしてだけでなく、一人の人間として知ってほしいのです。彼の努力する姿勢、情熱、そして人柄は、応援する価値のあるものだと心から信じています。

I've known Gen for about 10 years now, and his work ethic has always impressed me, both on and off the snow. The fact that he runs a housing business alongside skiing and making movies during the winter really shows how much passion and dedication he puts into everything he does.
I feel that it can be particularly difficult for Japanese skiers to make a living solely from skiing, as they often have more limited opportunities when it comes to brand support. Japan has a relatively self-contained ski market, whereas in Europe, the different countries and markets are much more closely connected.
That's why I hope you'll take the time to get to know Gen not only as a skier, but also as a person. I truly believe his work ethic, passion, and personality make him someone worth supporting.
