ついに！送った塩25ポンドすべてが、Rumiano Cheeseさんに届きました！！！

この写真を見たとき、ほんとうにうれしくて、
なんとも表現できない気持ちになりました。

手に持っているチーズは、初代『KAMOME CHEESE』

これから、来年のクリスマスシーズンに販売される『KAMOME CHEESE』の仕込みが始まります。

そして、そこには陸前高田の塩が使われることになります！

KAMOME CHEESEのパッケージには、2013年にクレセントシティの浜辺に流れ着いた『かもめ号』のほか、

『奇跡の一本松』がデザインされ、

Rikuzentakataの文字も記されています！

このパッケージからも、Rumianoさん、クレセントシティのみなさんの陸前高田への愛を感じます。

The final shipment of Hiroto Bay salt made by Nahomi Tsuboi in Rikuzentakata, Japan was delivered to Baird Rumiano in Crescent City, California. For those that don't know the story, Baird and Jane Rumiano announced during our last Sister City Delegation visit (December 2019) that they would be making a special Rumiano "Kamome" Dry Jack Cheese with salt from the Iwate Prefecture to benefit student exchange between our two communities. Nahomi was so inspired by the generosity shown to the youth of Rikuzentakata that she vowed to make salt from Hiroto bay seawater. This process of boiling down seawater on a traditional wood fired stove took many months just to generate 25 lbs of salt. Nahomi you are an inspiration to all of us, especially our youth!

ほんとうによかった。。。

ただただそれしかない。

ここから二市のさらに関係が強くなっていくこと、
若者の交流が盛り上がっていくこと、
それらを通して、将来に夢を持つ若者が増えていってほしい、

心から願っています！

チーズと塩は、太平洋の上ですれちがいましたよね！
