\\ルーツを知る事//

日本に生まれれば日本人、外国に生まれれば外国人これが当たり前のような事ですが、

例えば、私。トンガと日本の血が混ざった自分を一言で表す事は不可能です。また何人か?と聞かれても、ハーフといえばいいのですが、国籍が日本人だから日本と言えますし、トンガの血が流れているのでトンガ人とも言えます。

何故私が自分達のルーツを知る事や、文化交流が大事な事だと思っているか。ルーツを知る事で、人生の見方がどんどん変わっていったからです。

私は子供の頃、自分がハーフである事トンガ人である事がとても嫌でした。日本で育った自分は自分の外見などでイジメなどにも対面した事があるので、実は日本の事も当時は好きではありませんでした。

今は何とも思っていません。学びがあったのでいい経験でした。

学べたのはトンガに行った事で知った母方のルーツ。そして、トンガに行った事で日本のルーツを学び直す事ができ両方のルーツを体験した事で自分のルーツを誇りに思う事ができたのです。

文化交流はお互いの文化、歴史、生き方や価値観をシェアし学び合う事ができる交流。お互いから違った視点で自分や相手への理解を深める事ができ、また自分をより深くしる事ができるツールだと私は思います。

次の世代へと生きていく子供達にこのような交流と知識や繋がりを私はどうしても残していきたいです。

We are seeking to create a bridge between Polynesia and Japan through a project “Polyventure” where Polynesians in Japan travel through Japan to do “cultural exchange” with people in Japan. 

“Culture is a window reflecting the history, culture & spiritual world of a nation... 

Cultural exchange is a bridge to enhance the mutual understanding & friendship between people of different nations” 

We all dreamed about it. We also talked about it.

So I took action to make it happen.      

All we need is your support and contribution toward this project so that  our community, heritage, culture & people can spread our love around Japan & also share our roots & Japan’s  roots to combined & create something new to carry out what each culture values to the next generation.
