ロスアンゼルス公演を8日後に控えたCLUB CITTA' 川崎のライブは、1980年にロスアンゼルスにてレコーディングを行った「EYES OF THE MIND」からスタート！久しぶりに演奏する「THE CONTINENTAL WAY」へと続くと、長年のファンの歓声が高まり、「GLORY」「A・O・ZO・RA」「TODAY FOR TOMMOROW」など第1期～第4期の人気曲 8曲で構成されたコーナーに、観客はグングン魅き込まれていきました。
15分のINTERMISSIONを挟んで、第5期 CASIOPEAの代表曲「SKY SO HIGH」から2ndステージが再開。続いてアルバム『TRUE BLUE』に収録した各メンバーが作曲した楽曲を、それぞれの曲の解説付きで紹介、演奏するコーナーとして野呂曲、今井曲、安部曲、鳴瀬曲の順に演奏されました。
演奏前に、それぞれ野呂に前ぶりされ、今井は楽曲の解説よりもLA公演に向けての熱い意気込みを伝えるトークに、鳴瀬はクラウドファンディング支援の御礼をすると、その後はいつものジョークで安部、今井を巻き込み、野呂にはLA公演の為の英語MCの練習とばかり、鳴瀬の紹介を催促し会場はなごやかな雰囲気に包まれていきました。
そして後半は「DOMINO LINE」「TOKIMEKI」と続き、「ASAYAKE」で盛大に締めくくると、演奏終了と同時にアンコールの大合唱、アンコールは「DAZZLING」「FIGHT MAN」を演奏、その後も観客の歓声と拍手は鳴りやまず、メンバーは再びステージに登場すると「THE SKY」で応えて大喝采で終演しました。
川崎のみならず名古屋・大阪公演でのメンバーの熱いパフォーマンスやこだわりのセットリストは大好評！ロスアンゼルス公演に向けて、観客の期待はさらに高まり、まもなく、待望のThe WILTERNの扉が開きます。ご期待ください！
With their Los Angeles concert just eight days away, the show at CLUB CITTA’ Kawasaki kicked off with “EYES OF THE MIND,” which was recorded in Los Angeles in 1980! The set continued with “THE CONTINENTAL WAY”—a song they hadn’t performed in a long time—and the cheers from longtime fans grew even louder. The audience was completely captivated by a set consisting of eight popular songs from the first through fourth eras, including “GLORY,” “A・O・ZO・RA,” and “TODAY FOR TOMMOROW.”
After a 15-minute intermission, the second stage resumed with “SKY SO HIGH,” a signature song from CASIOPEA’s fifth era. This was followed by a segment where songs composed by each member and featured on the album *TRUE BLUE* were introduced and performed, complete with commentary on each track, in the order of Noro, Imai, Abe, and Naruse.
Before each performance, Noro introduced the songs. Imai, rather than explaining the song, delivered a passionate speech expressing his enthusiasm for the upcoming LA concert, while Naruse expressed his gratitude for the crowdfunding support. Afterward, he drew Abe and Imai into his usual jokes and, as if to make Noro practice his English MC skills for the LA concert, urged him to introduce Naruse, enveloping the venue in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
The second half continued with “DOMINO LINE” and “TOKIMEKI,” culminating in a grand finale with “ASAYAKE.” As soon as the performance ended, the audience erupted into a chorus of “encore” chants. The band responded with “DAZZLING” and “FIGHT MAN,” but the cheers and applause from the audience refused to die down. The members returned to the stage to perform “THE SKY,” bringing the show to a close amid thunderous applause.
The members’ passionate performances and carefully curated setlists—not only in Kawasaki but also at the Nagoya and Osaka shows—were a huge hit! As the band prepares for their Los Angeles show, audience anticipation continues to grow, and soon, the doors to the long-awaited Wiltern will open. Stay tuned!
