はじめまして。ニュージーランド出身のウェイン・ダグラスです。私は長野県で英会話講師をしながら、日本人にとって身近な薬「ベンゾジアゼピン系薬」の危険性を伝える活動をしています。
My name is Wayne Douglas. While originally from New Zealand, I work as an English instructor in Nagano Japan, where I am actively involved in raising awareness about the dangers of prescribed benzodiazepine type drugs.
ベンゾジアゼピン系薬は日本の医療機関で精神安定剤や睡眠薬、筋肉の緊張をとる薬として使われている薬です。疲れや不眠などを訴える患者に処方しやすい薬のため、精神科だけではなく内科や整形外科や耳鼻科など様々な診療科で処方されることがあります。世界的に見ても日本はベンゾジアゼピン系薬の処方量が最も多い国の一つと言われています。
しかし実は、ベンゾジアゼピン系薬は非常に扱いが難しい薬であり、患者に非常に苦しい副作用が出ることはあまり知られていません。世界の専門家の間ではベンゾジアゼピン系薬の使用を控え、あるいは短期間に限定するべきという議論がなされていますが、日本ではこの薬の危険性について無知な医師はいまだに多く、何ヶ月も何年も続けて処方してしまう場合もあります。その結果、一部の患者は深刻でひどい苦痛を伴う副作用・離脱症状で苦しんでいます。
注：あらゆる薬物と同様に、個体差は重要な要素であり、反応は人それぞれ異なります。例えば減薬中に仕事に出られる人もいれば、寝たきりになり、非常に苦しむ人もいます。ベンゾジアゼピン系薬の正しい情報については、世界第一人者のアシュトン名誉教授作成に係る「アシュトンマニュアル（ベンゾジアゼピン系薬剤と離脱法についての解説書）」をご参考ください。
Indicated for stress or insomnia, BZDs are tranquilizer drugs that are over zealously prescribed in many clinical settings, including general medicine. As they can cause distressing side effects, experts recommend short-term use (2-4 weeks) only, however, many ill-informed doctors continue prescribing long term. Subsequently, many end up suffering severe side-effects and withdrawal symptoms (see Ashton Manual).

ベンゾジアゼピン系薬とセットで出てくる言葉に「自律神経失調症」という病名があります。
「自律神経失調症」は
・原因不明の不眠
・原因不明の頭痛
・原因不明の体調不良
などの時に便宜的に使われる診断名です。病院は診断名をつけないと診療報酬点数が得られないため、「よくわからない」患者には「自律神経失調症」の診断を与え、ベンゾジアゼピンを処方します。
患者は知らない間に病気のレッテルを貼られ、（本来飲む必要のない）危険な薬を飲まされることになるのです。

Often used for any unexplained insomnia, headaches, physical discomfort etc., the term Autonomic Nervous System Disorder (as used in Japan) is a convenient diagnostic tool often associated with BZDs. Notable is that medical practitioners cannot earn medical reimbursement points without assigning a diagnosis. Subsequently, many people are labelled with an imaginative condition and unnecessarily prescribed dangerous drugs. NB: It is dangerous to stop BZDS abruptly. Please refer to The Ashton Manual and always consult a BZD wise doctor.

以前は日本の行政機関の仕事をしていましたが、2000年頃、新宿の病院で処方されたベンゾジアゼピン系薬の薬害被害に遭い、重い副作用から治療に何年もかかり仕事も失いました。
現在は長野県で英会話講師をしながら、ベンゾジアゼピン薬害から日本人を守る注意喚起活動を積極的に行っています。
Wayne Douglas, 59, originally from Auckland, NZ. While previously working for Japanese government agencies, I suffered from BZD drugs prescribed in Tokyo. The ensuing job loss was followed by years of rehabilitation. Actively engaged in raising awareness to protect others from BZD drug harms, I am currently working as an English teacher in Nagano.
私が発起人となり「7月11日 世界ベンゾ注意喚起の日」(W-BAD) のWebサイトを運営しています。また、当初に立ち上げたBenzo Case Japan (BCJ) ではベンゾジアゼピン系薬の薬害研究の世界的な権威であるヘザー・アシュトン教授によるアシュトンマニュアル（段階的な減薬法などに関する手引書）の邦訳版を掲載しています。
While serving as founder and manager of the “July 11 World Benzodiazepine Awareness Day” (W-BAD) campaigning initiative, I initially established the Benzo Case Japan (BCJ) website, which hosts The Ashton Manual in both Japanese and English.
制作中の当映画「薬害裁判の真実」は、私自身の薬害被害体験（診察や薬害裁判の再現）、他の薬害被害者の切実な声、また世界的に著名な専門家７名による貴重なコメントを収録しており、自律神経失調症という「誤魔化し」と、それに伴いほぼ自動的に処方されるベンゾジアセピン系薬が数多くの人の人生や家庭を壊しているという実態を人々に知ってもらうためのものです。
Currently in production, this film, Sentence by Prescription, documents my own experience of pharmaceutical damage with full clinic and courtroom reenactments. Also included are the heartfelt voices of others who have been harmed, together with expert comments from 7 world renowned experts. This production looks at the deceptive ANSD diagnostic and the BZD drugs that are destroying the lives and families of countless individuals.

この映画は、これまで広く議論されずに放置されてきた日本におけるベンゾジアゼピンと"自律神経失調症"という診断名の問題に警鐘をならし、ベンゾジアゼピンによる薬害被害者をなくすための活動です。
人を苦しみから救う場所であるはずの病院で処方された薬によって、患者が苦しみを味わい人生を台無しにされるような結果はあってはならないことです。
私はベンゾジアゼピンによって人生を狂わされた被害者の1人として、同じ体験をする人を1人でも減らしたいという思いで、これまで力を振り絞って20年間以上に亘り活動をしてきました。

While sounding the alarm on the long-neglected issues surrounding benzodiazepines and the diagnosis of “autonomic nervous system disorder” as it is used in Japan, this film aims to help reduce the number of people needlessly suffering from benzodiazepine related drug damage.
Should it be acceptable for patients to suffer and have their lives destroyed by drugs prescribed at medical practices and hospitals? Places that should essentially be sanctuaries for recovery?
As one person whose life has been shattered by prescribed benzodiazepines, I have poured my energy into this cause for over 20 years, driven by the desire to prevent even one more person from enduring the same degree of suffering.
For the past six years, I have continued movie production with limited personal funds and some degree of help from a few kindhearted individuals. However, with completion just around the corner, there is still a serious funding shortage.
To secure the necessary funds to complete production, I am now embarking upon this crowdfunding campaign and sincerely ask for your warm understanding and support. I would be equally grateful if you could spread the word about this campaign to your friends and colleagues!

2025/12/08 11:232025年11月15日November 15, 2025再び衆議院での薬害注意喚起活動Another meeting at the Japan House of Representatives当プロジェクトを公開して間もなく（11月12日～14日にかけて）衆議院会館において、コロナワクチンによるスパイク蛋白質の解毒剤を開発したイタリア会社の代表らと原口一博議員と池田としえ先生（日野市議会議員6期、同市議会副議長、全国子宮頸がんワクチン被害者連絡会・事務局長）との面会をコーオーディネイトし、同面会の通訳も務めさせていただきました。初めての同時通訳でしたので、うまくできなかったところもあるでしょうが、頑張ってきました。詳しくは当記事の末端をご覧ください。原口議員の関連動画はこちらです（私の通訳は8分のところから）Related video at Senator Haraguchi’s office (my interpreting from 8 min mark) Shortly after launching this project (from November 12th to 14th), I coordinated a meeting at the House of Representatives First Members’ Building between representatives from an Italian company that developed a detox for the spike protein from the COVID vax, Member of Parliament Kazuhiro Haraguchi, and Dr. Toshie Ikeda (six-term Hino City Council member, Vice Chair of the Hino City Council, and Secretary-General of the National Association of Cervical Cancer Vaccine Victims).I also served as the interpreter for this meeting.
