私は子どもの頃から、人を助けることに情熱を持っていました。誰かを支援できる機会があれば、ためらうことなく行動してきました。

若者こそが未来を担う存在であり、その可能性を最大限に発揮するためには、私たち大人の支えが必要だと信じています。

YASDでの仕事は、若者たちが地域のリーダーへと成長していく過程を、日々支える機会を与えてくれます。彼らの人生が前向きに変わっていく姿を見ることが、私の大きなやりがいです。

Why did you start social work?

Since childhood, I have always had a passion for helping others. Whenever there is an opportunity to support someone, I do not hesitate to take action.

I believe that young people are the future, and that they need our support in order to reach their full potential.

The work we do at YASD gives me the opportunity every day to support young people as they grow into community leaders. Seeing their lives transform in a positive way is one of the greatest rewards of my work.

これまで、本当にたくさんの忘れられない経験をしてきました。

初めて身分証明書を受け取り、涙を流す人を見たこと。生まれて初めて自分の地域以外の場所に渡航する人を見送ったこと。そして2015年には、オランダ国王にお会いする機会もありました。

どれか一つだけを「最も印象に残っている経験」として選ぶことはできません。どの出来事も一生の宝物であり、振り返るたびに、スポーツがいかに人の人生を変える力を持っているかを実感します。

何より、ホームレスワールドカップでジンバブエ代表として挑戦した人々の人生が変わる瞬間に立ち会い、その一部になれたことに心から感謝しています。

What was your most memorable experience with HWC?

Over the years, I have had so many unforgettable experiences.

I have seen someone cry after receiving their identity documents for the first time. I have watched people travel outside their community for the very first time. In 2015, I also had the opportunity to meet the King of the Netherlands.

It is impossible for me to choose just one memory as the most memorable. Each of these moments is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. When I look back, I am reminded of the power of sport to transform lives.

Above all, I am truly grateful that I was able to be part of those life-changing moments for the people who represented Zimbabwe at the Homeless World Cup.
